Important Safeguards
When using electrical appliances, always follow basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury, including:
- Read all instructions.
- Do not touch hot surfaces; use handles or knobs.
- Do not immerse the cord, plug, or appliance in water or other liquid to protect against fire, electric shock, and injury.
- Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before handling parts or cleaning.
- Do not operate with a damaged cord or plug, or after malfunction or damage. Contact Consumer Support.
- Use of accessory attachments not recommended by the manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock, or injury.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not let the cord hang over edges or touch hot surfaces.
- Do not place on or near hot gas/electric burners or in heated ovens.
- To disconnect, ensure the brew indicator light is off, then remove the plug.
- Use only for its intended purpose.
- Keep the carafe lid on during use.
- Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during brewing.
- The carafe is designed for this appliance and must never be used on a range top.
- Do not set a hot carafe on a wet or cold surface.
- Do not use a cracked carafe or one with a loose/weakened handle.
- Do not clean the carafe with abrasive cleansers, steel wool, or other abrasive material.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience, unless supervised by a responsible person.
- Supervise children to ensure they do not play with the appliance.

Polarized Plug (120V models only): This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade wider than the other) for electric shock reduction. It fits into a polarized outlet only one way. If it doesn't fit, reverse the plug. If it still doesn't fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not modify the plug.
Tamper-Resistant Screw: This appliance has a tamper-resistant screw to prevent outer cover removal. Do not attempt to remove the outer cover to reduce fire or electric shock risk. No user-serviceable parts inside; repair by authorized personnel only.
Electrical Cord: A short cord reduces entanglement/tripping risks. Extension cords may be used if care is exercised, ensuring their electrical rating is at least equal to the appliance's, they are grounding-type if the appliance is grounded, and they are arranged to prevent tripping.
Getting to Know Your Coffeemaker
The coffeemaker has the following parts:
- One-piece cover
- Showerhead

How to Use
This product is for household use only.
Getting Started
- Remove all packing material, stickers, and plastic bands.
- Wash removable parts as instructed in CARE AND CLEANING.
- Pour fresh cold water up to the MAX/12 mark in the water reservoir.
- Place a basket-style paper filter into the removable brew basket and insert the basket into the holder.
- Plug the cord into a standard electrical outlet.
- Brew water through the appliance without coffee grounds to remove manufacturing residue. Discard water and filter.
- Turn off, unplug, and allow the appliance to cool.
Setting the Clock
- Plug the appliance into a standard electrical outlet.
- The digital clock display will flash 12:00 A.M.
- To set the time: Press the HOUR button until the correct hour appears. A small dot in the top left corner indicates P.M. when lit.
- Press the MIN button to select minutes.
Note: If the unit is unplugged or power is interrupted, the time must be reset.
Brewing Coffee
- Open the one-piece cover. Fill the water reservoir with cold tap water to the MAX/12 line. Important: Overfilling may cause leaks from the back.
- Place a paper filter in the brew basket. Add ground coffee (suggest 1 heaping tablespoon per cup). Place the brew basket in position.

- Close the one-piece cover securely.
- Place the brew-thru lid on the empty carafe, ensuring it's in the down position. Set the carafe on the carafe plate. Note: Improper lid alignment may cause overflow.
- Plug the cord into an outlet. Press the ON/OFF button. The brew indicator light will illuminate, and brewing begins. The "Keep Hot" plate keeps coffee warm for two hours or until ON/OFF is pressed.
- When cool, carefully remove and discard used grounds and filter.
- To turn off, press the ON/OFF button; the indicator light will turn off.
- Unplug when not in use.
- Press the tab on the carafe lid to pour coffee.
Sneak-A-Cup™ Feature
Removing the carafe pauses brewing. Replace the carafe on the plate within 30 seconds to prevent overflow. Brewing resumes.
Setting Auto Brew Time
- Press the PROG button. The AUTO light flashes. The clock displays 12:00.
- Quickly press HOUR and MIN buttons to set the desired auto-brew time (e.g., 7:15 A.M., ensure P.M. indicator is off).
- Press and hold the AUTO button until the AUTO light stops flashing. The display shows the current time.
- To check preset time, press PROG. Press AUTO to reactivate the timer (AUTO light turns on).
- To cancel Auto Brew, press the AUTO button (AUTO light turns off).
Care and Cleaning
This product has no user-serviceable parts. Refer service to qualified personnel.
Cleaning
- Ensure the coffeemaker is unplugged and cool.
- Remove brew basket. Discard used filter and grounds.
- Wash brew basket and carafe in the dishwasher (top-rack) or by hand in hot, soapy water.
- Wipe the exterior, control panel, and carafe plate with a soft, damp cloth. Note: Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Never immerse the coffeemaker in water.
- To clean the inside of the cover, open it and wipe with a damp cloth.

Cleaning with Vinegar
Note: For regular use, minerals and hard water can clog the coffeemaker. A monthly vinegar cleaning is recommended.
- Pour white vinegar into the water reservoir up to the 6-cup mark. Add cold water up to the 12-cup mark.
- Place a paper filter in the brew basket, close the cover, and set the empty carafe on the plate.
- Turn on the coffeemaker. Let half the mixture brew into the carafe (to about the 5-cup mark). Turn off and let soak for at least 15 minutes.
- Turn on again to brew the remaining mixture. Turn off, empty carafe, and discard the filter.
- Fill reservoir with cold water to the 12-cup mark, replace carafe, and run a full brew cycle to flush out the cleaning mixture. Repeat if necessary to remove vinegar smell/taste.
- Wash brew basket and carafe as instructed in CLEANING.
