Installation Overview
This document provides instructions for installing the IKEA GRUNDAD hob.
Tools and Materials Required:

Step-by-Step Installation
Step 1: Prepare the Countertop
Measure and mark the cutout dimensions on the countertop. The recommended cutout dimensions are 560±1 mm in width and 490±1 mm in depth. Ensure a minimum clearance of 55 mm from the edge of the countertop.
Drill pilot holes with a 10 mm diameter at the marked corners.
Step 2: Cut the Opening
Use a jigsaw to carefully cut out the opening in the countertop along the marked lines.
Step 3: Prepare the Cabinetry
Ensure the cabinet below the countertop is prepared according to the specifications. The diagram shows a cabinet with drawers. A minimum clearance of 50 mm is required above the hob, and a minimum of 28 mm from the front edge of the cabinet. For ventilation, a minimum of 5 mm is needed around the hob.
Step 4: Install the Hob
Carefully lower the hob into the prepared opening. Ensure it sits flush with the countertop. The hob should click into place.
Step 5: Electrical Connection
Connect the hob to the electrical supply. Warning: Improper electrical connections can be dangerous. Refer to the user manual for detailed wiring instructions. An "E" symbol may indicate an electrical connection point.
Step 6: Final Placement and Clearances
Ensure the hob is correctly positioned. The diagrams indicate specific clearance requirements:
- A minimum of 20 mm clearance is needed above the hob.
- A minimum of 18 mm clearance is required for the hob's edge.
- A minimum of 5 mm clearance is needed at the front.
- A minimum of 28 mm clearance is needed from the front edge of the cabinet.
