Protect Your Investment: Proper Maintenance is Your Responsibility
Congratulations on choosing Lennox CBX32MV or CBX32M blower coil units. These units combine environmental responsibility with home comfort, ensuring your home is more comfortable and livable. You can count on Lennox for quality and efficiency.
These units are designed for systems charged with R410A refrigerant. Lennox is committed to manufacturing high-quality products that provide comfort and help keep energy bills low.
Warranties
Your new Lennox CBX32MV or CBX32M blower coil unit is backed by a 5-year limited parts warranty. Keep your warranty documentation along with other important records concerning your heating and cooling equipment.
Note: Failure to maintain your system as outlined in this manual will void your equipment warranty.
For specific warranty details, refer to the separate warranty sheet provided with your Dave Lennox Signature™ Collection CBX32MV or Elite® Series CBX32M unit.
Maintenance
Proper maintenance is crucial for peak performance and efficiency. Clogged filters and blocked airflow can significantly reduce your unit's effectiveness.
Filter Maintenance
Ask your Lennox dealer to show you the location of your blower coil's filter. It may be inside the indoor unit or behind a return air grille. Check the filter monthly and clean or replace it as needed.
Disposable filters must be replaced with the same type and size. If unsure, contact your Lennox dealer for assistance.
Many indoor units use re-usable foam filters. These can be cleaned with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry completely before reinstallation.
Important Safety Note
[!] Turn off electrical power to the unit at the disconnect switch before performing any maintenance. The unit may have multiple power supplies.
Ensure the filter and all access panels are in place whenever the unit is in operation.
Additional System Features
Electronic Air Cleaner (Optional)
Your system may include an electronic air cleaner to improve indoor air quality by removing up to 90% of airborne particles. Consult your dealer for maintenance instructions if equipped.
Condensate Drain
Your blower coil unit has a drain pan to collect condensate removed from the air. Have your dealer show you the main condensate drain line (and auxiliary drain, if applicable) and how to check it for obstructions.
Outdoor Unit Airflow
It is essential to provide unrestricted airflow to the outdoor unit. Obstructions like leaves, trash, or shrubs can cause the unit to work harder and consume more energy. Regularly trim surrounding shrubbery and check for debris.

Lennox Dealers
Your Lennox dealer is the best resource for the care, operation, and service of your Lennox equipment. Lennox' Quality Dealer Standards program ensures you will receive prompt, courteous, and professional service.
Professional Service Checks
Before the start of each heating and cooling season, a qualified service technician should perform the following checks:
Safety First: Always turn off electrical power to the unit at the disconnect switch before any maintenance.
- Inspect and clean the outdoor and indoor coils. The outdoor coil may be flushed with a water hose. (Note: More frequent flushing may be needed if exposed to corrosive substances or airflow-blocking materials like pet urine or cottonwood seeds.)
- Visually inspect refrigerant lines for leaks.
- Check wiring for loose connections.
- Verify voltage at the indoor and outdoor units (while operating).
- Check the amp-draw of the outdoor fan motor and indoor blower motor, comparing values to the unit's nameplate.
- Clean or replace indoor unit filters.
- Check refrigerant charge and system pressures.
- Inspect the condensate drain line for free and unobstructed flow; clean if necessary.
Thermostat Operation
Your blower coil unit can be used with either an air conditioner or a heat pump. While thermostats may vary, their basic operation is similar.
Temperature Setting Levers
Most thermostats have separate levers or dials for heating and cooling. Set them to your desired temperatures. Avoid frequent adjustments, as turning the unit off and on before pressures equalize can stress the compressor.
Fan Switch
AUTO/INT Mode: The blower operates only when the thermostat calls for heating or cooling. This mode is ideal for humidity control.
ON/CONT Mode: Provides continuous indoor blower operation, regardless of compressor or auxiliary heat activity. Use this mode for constant air circulation or filtering.
System Switch
Select heating, cooling, or auto. The auto mode allows the system to switch automatically between heating and cooling to maintain comfort settings. Heat pump thermostats may also have an emergency heat mode that locks out the heat pump and uses auxiliary heat.
Indicating Light
Many heat pump thermostats feature an amber light indicating operation in emergency heat mode.
Temperature Indicator
Displays the current room temperature.
Programmable Thermostats
Your Lennox system can be controlled by a programmable thermostat, offering programmable time-of-day setpoints for heating and cooling. Refer to your specific thermostat's manual for detailed operation.
Before You Call for Service
If your system is not operating correctly, check the following before contacting a service technician:
- Ensure all electrical disconnect switches are ON.
- Verify the room thermostat temperature selector is set correctly.
- Confirm the room thermostat system switch is set properly.
- Check for and replace any blown fuses or reset circuit breakers.
- Make sure all unit access panels are securely in place.
- Ensure the air filter is clean.
- Locate your unit's model number before calling.
