This unit can function after being subjected to water jets from a faucet for 3 minutes at approximately 12.5 L/min from any direction at an approximate distance of 3 m. The supplied USB charging cable is not water-resistant.
Water resistance is not guaranteed under all circumstances.
Precautions for use near water
Comply with the following. Improper use may result in malfunction.
- Close the USB cover securely.
- Do not open or close the USB cover with wet hands or when there are water droplets on the unit. Doing so may cause malfunction, such as oxidation of the terminals due to water droplets.
- Do not connect or use a USB charging cable.
- Do not pour soapy water or detergent into the unit, nor immerse it in water.
- Remove any hair, lint, sand, dust, etc., that may have adhered to the rubber seal of the USB cover before closing it.
- If the device is left with water droplets in a cold place, it may cause malfunction, such as the USB cover becoming locked.
- Sound may become weaker or distorted if water accumulates in the earphones or the unit's microphone. Clean it with a soft, dry cloth.
- If water enters the unit, stop using it and contact your nearest service center or dealer. The warranty will not cover malfunction due to water exposure from improper customer handling. The supplied USB charging cable is not water-resistant.

Remote Controller Details:
- LED Indicator: The number of blinks or colors notifies the status of the unit.
- Charging Terminal (DC IN): Open the USB cover and connect the supplied USB charging cable to this terminal when charging. (See "Charging")
- Note on Remote Controller: Do not use any USB charging cable other than the supplied one. When using the unit, do not cover the right cover with your palm. The Bluetooth® connection may be blocked.
Charging
The rechargeable battery (installed in the unit) is delivered uncharged. Charge the battery before using the unit.
1 Connect this unit to a computer using the USB charging cable

- Approximately 3 seconds after the connection is established, the LED on the right earphone will light up red.
- The LED lights up red while charging. When charging is complete, the LED will turn off.
- Charging will take approximately 1.5 hours from empty to fully charged. (Quick charge for 70 minutes of playback: approximately 15 minutes)
The Bluetooth® feature cannot be used while this unit is connected to a computer with the USB charging cable.
Recharge at an ambient temperature between 10 °C and 35 °C. Outside this temperature range, charging may stop.
The power cannot be turned on during charging.
Do not use any USB charging cable other than the supplied one.
Caution: Only use the USB charging cable when connecting to a computer.
Power On/Off
1 Press and hold ⑫ for approximately 3 seconds
A beep will sound and the LED on the right earphone will blink.
To turn off the power
Press and hold ⑫ for approximately 3 seconds. A beep will sound and the power will turn off.
When the unit is not operated for approximately 5 minutes, the power will turn off automatically. (See "Auto Power Off" (→ P. 6))
Connecting a Bluetooth® Device
To establish a wireless connection, register the unit with compatible Bluetooth® devices.
Preparation on the Bluetooth® device
- Turn on the power and enable the Bluetooth® feature.
- Place the device within 1 m of the unit.
- Check the device's operation in its operating instructions, if necessary.
First-time connection
- Turn on the unit
The unit will start searching for the Bluetooth® device to connect to, and the LED on the right earphone will blink blue and red alternately. (Only for the first operation after purchase)
- When the unit (“RP-BTS50”) is detected by the Bluetooth® device, select it
The MAC address (e.g., 6C:5A:B5:B3:1D:0F) may appear before the device name.
If prompted for a key, enter "0000 (four zeros)".
If the Bluetooth® profile selection screen appears, select the "A2DP" profile. If "A2DP" is not supported or if you simply wish to use phone calls, select the "HSP" or "HFP" profile. (For details on profiles, see "Listening to Music" and "Making a Phone Call" (→ P. 5))
- Check the connection with the Bluetooth® device on the unit
First, the LED on the right earphone lights up blue and blinks on and off. When the connection is established, the blinking pattern will change.
Connection after the second time
<Connect to the same Bluetooth® device> When the unit is turned on, it will search for the previously configured Bluetooth® device and automatically initiate connection. First, the LED on the right earphone lights up blue and blinks on and off. When the connection is established, the blinking pattern will change.
<Connect to a different Bluetooth® device> Disable the Bluetooth® feature on the previously connected device. Ensure the unit is turned off. Press and hold ⑫ for approximately 5 seconds. A beep will sound. The unit will start searching for another Bluetooth® device. The LED on the right earphone will blink blue and red alternately. Continue to steps 2 and 3.
If a connection to a device is not established within approximately 5 minutes, the unit will turn off. Start again from step 1.
You cannot connect 2 or more Bluetooth® devices to the unit at the same time.
You can pair up to 8 devices with this unit. If a 9th device is paired, it will replace the device with the oldest connection. To use it again, pair it anew.
How to Wear the Earphones
Check the left (L) and right (R) sides. Then, place the earphones around the back of your neck, hook them over both ears, and fold the clip to adjust. Move the cable adjuster towards the back of your head.

Adjusting the ear clips
Follow the steps below the first time to ensure a comfortable and secure fit.
- Expand the clip by moving it away from the earphone.
- Place the earphone in your ear.
- Fold the clip around your ear.
- Adjust the other earphone.
The earpiece parts installed at the time of purchase are size M. If these parts are not the appropriate size, change them to the supplied S or L size parts.
Attention: Do not bend the clip more than necessary, as it may be damaged and cannot be adjusted.
Listening to Music
If the Bluetooth® compatible device supports the "A2DP" and "AVRCP" Bluetooth® profiles, music can be played back with the remote control operations of the unit.
- A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile): Transmits audio to the unit.
- AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile): Allows remote control of the device using the unit.
- Connect the Bluetooth® device and the unit (→ P. 4)
- Select and play music on the Bluetooth® device. The selected music will play through the unit's earphones.

The operating time may be shorter depending on the operating conditions.
Attention:
- Sound leakage may occur depending on the volume level.
- When the volume is increased to near maximum, the music may sound distorted. Reduce the volume until the distortion is eliminated.
Making a Phone Call
With Bluetooth® phones (mobile phones or smartphones) that support the "HSP" or "HFP" Bluetooth® profile, you can use the unit for phone calls.
- HSP (Headset Profile): This profile can be used to receive monaural sounds and establish bidirectional communication using the unit's microphone.
- HFP (Hands-Free Profile): In addition to HSP functions, this profile includes the function for incoming and outgoing calls.
- Connect the phone with Bluetooth® and the unit (→ P. 4)
- When answering an incoming call
Press ⑫ on the unit and answer the call. During an incoming call, the ringtone will sound from the earphones and the LED will blink. (HFP only) To reject an incoming call, press ⑫ twice quickly until the ringtone stops. A beep will sound.
- Start talking
The LED will blink 2 times repeatedly during a phone call. The volume can be adjusted during a phone call. For configuration instructions, see "Remote Control" (→ P. 5)
- Press ⑫ to end the phone call
A beep will sound.
When making an outgoing call
Refer to the operating manual for your Bluetooth® phone. (Steps for checking and operating the unit are explained below)
During an outgoing call, the ringtone will sound from the earphones and the LED will blink.
To cancel an outgoing call, press ⑫. A beep will sound.
There may be cases where hands-free settings need to be configured on the Bluetooth® phone.
Depending on the Bluetooth® phone, you may hear ringtones for incoming and outgoing calls from the phone via the unit.
(HFP only) Press ⑫ twice quickly on the unit. The call device will switch between the Bluetooth® phone and the unit.
When the illumination lights are on, the indicator LED will be off.
Useful Functions
LED Illumination
The unit is equipped with blue LED illumination lights on the right and left earphones. The LED illumination is off by default and turns off each time the unit is deactivated.
To turn on the lights, press the + and - buttons simultaneously. To turn them off, press and hold the + and - buttons simultaneously for approximately 3 seconds.
- When the battery level starts to drop, the illumination lights will turn off.
- When the illumination lights are on, the indicator LED will be off.
- When the LED illumination is on, the operating time will be shorter.
Resetting the Unit
This unit can be reset when all operations are rejected. To reset the unit, connect it to a computer using the USB charging cable. All previous operations will be canceled. (Device pairing information will not be erased.)
Auto Power Off
If the unit is idle for approximately 5 minutes and operations for Bluetooth® devices are in standby during that period, a beep will sound and the power will turn off automatically.
Indicator LED
When the battery level is low during unit operation, the blue blinking LED on the right earphone will change to red. A beep will sound every 1 minute. When the battery runs out, the power turns off.
Restoring Factory Settings
If you wish to erase all device pairing information, etc., you can restore the unit to its factory settings (original settings when purchased). Charge the battery before restoring the unit.
- Press and hold ⑫ for approximately 5 seconds. The unit will start searching for Bluetooth® devices to connect to.
- While searching, press and hold the + and - buttons simultaneously for at least 5 seconds. The LED will blink blue rapidly. The unit will be restored to factory settings.
Maintenance
Clean this unit with a dry, soft cloth.
- Do not use solvents such as benzine, thinner, alcohol, kitchen detergent, chemical cleaner, etc. This could cause deformation of the outer casing or peeling of the coating.
Maintaining Battery Performance
- During long periods of disuse, fully charge this unit once every 6 months to maintain battery performance.

Safety Precautions
Unit
- Avoid using or placing this unit near heat sources.
- Do not listen with this unit at high volume in places where you need to hear surrounding sounds for safety, such as railroad crossings and construction sites.
- Do not block the ventilation of this unit with objects such as a cloth for extended periods when the unit is charging or powered on.
Earphones
- Keep the earphones out of the reach of small children to prevent them from swallowing them.
Allergies
- Discontinue use if you experience discomfort with the earphones or any other part that comes into direct contact with your skin.
- Continued use may cause rashes or other allergic reactions.
Precautions for listening with earphones
- Do not operate your earphones at high volume. Hearing experts advise against prolonged and continuous listening.
- If you experience a ringing in your ears, reduce the volume or discontinue use.
- Do not use them while operating a motor vehicle. It could cause a traffic accident and is illegal in many places.
- Exercise extreme caution or eventually discontinue use in potentially dangerous situations.
This product may experience interference caused by mobile phones during use. If such interference becomes apparent, increase the separation between the product and the mobile phone.
This unit is intended for use in temperate and tropical climates.

Troubleshooting Guide
Before requesting service, perform the following checks. If you have doubts about any of the check points, or if the solutions indicated in the table do not resolve the problem, consult your dealer for instructions.
General
The unit does not respond
- Connect the unit to a computer using the USB charging cable. The unit will restart. (→ P. 6)
Power Supply and Charging
Cannot charge the unit
- Ensure the computer is turned on and not in standby or sleep mode.
- Does the USB port you are currently using function correctly? If your computer has other USB ports, disconnect the connector from your current port and connect it to another port.
- If the above measures are not applicable, disconnect the USB charging cable and reconnect it.
- If the charging period or operating time is reduced, the battery may be depleted. (Number of recharges for the built-in battery: approximately 300.)
LED does not light up during charging / Charging takes longer
- Is the supplied USB charging cable firmly connected to the computer's USB terminal? (→ P. 3)
- Ensure charging is performed at an ambient temperature between 10 °C and 35 °C.
Power does not turn on
- Is the unit charging? The power cannot be turned on during charging. (→ P. 3)
Bluetooth® Device Connection
The device cannot be connected
- Delete the pairing information for this unit from the Bluetooth® device, then pair them again. (→ P. 4)
Sound Volume and Audio
No sound
- Ensure the unit and the Bluetooth® device are connected correctly. (→ P. 4)
- Check if music is playing on the Bluetooth® device.
- Ensure the unit is turned on and the volume is not set too low.
- Pair and connect the Bluetooth® device and the unit again. (→ P. 4)
Low volume
- Increase the unit's volume. (→ P. 5)
- Increase the volume on the Bluetooth® device.
Sound cuts out / Sound quality is poor
- Sound may be interrupted if signals are blocked. Do not completely cover this unit with your palm, etc.
- The device may be out of the 10 m communication range. Move the device closer to this unit.
- Remove any obstacles between this unit and the device.
- Disconnect any wireless LAN devices when not in use.
- A communication problem may occur if the battery is depleted. Charge the unit. (→ P. 3)
Phone calls
Cannot hear the other person
- Ensure the unit and the Bluetooth® phone are turned on.
- Check if the unit and the Bluetooth® phone are connected. (→ P. 4)
- Check the audio settings of the Bluetooth® phone. Change the call device to the unit if it is set to the Bluetooth® phone. (→ P. 4)
- If the other person's voice volume is too low, increase the volume on both the unit and the Bluetooth® phone.
To Remove the Battery When Disposing of This Unit
Danger
The rechargeable battery is specifically made for this product; do not use it in any other device. Do not charge the battery after it has been removed. Do not heat or expose to flame. Do not leave the battery in a car exposed to direct sunlight with doors and windows closed for extended periods. Do not pierce the battery with a nail, subject it to impact, disassemble, or modify it. Do not let the cables touch any metal or touch each other. Do not carry or store the battery with a necklace, hairpin, or similar items. Doing so may cause the battery to generate heat, catch fire, or rupture.
Warning
Do not leave the removed battery or any other element within reach of children. Accidental ingestion of any of these elements may cause adverse effects to the body. If you suspect ingestion, consult a doctor immediately. If battery fluid leaks, take the following measure and do not touch the fluid with bare hands. If fluid enters the eye, it may cause vision loss. Wash the eye immediately with water, without rubbing, and then consult a doctor. If fluid contacts your body or clothing, it may cause skin inflammation or injury. Wash thoroughly with clean water and then consult a doctor.
The left earphone contains a rechargeable lithium-ion polymer battery. Dispose of it in accordance with local regulations. When disposing of this product, disassemble it correctly following the procedure and remove the internal rechargeable battery.
- Disassemble after the battery has been depleted.
- When disposing of the battery, contact local authorities or the dealer and ask for the correct disposal method.
Steps for removal:
- Hold the top of the left earphone (L) and insert a flat-head screwdriver (available on the market) under the upper cover A. Ensure your fingers are kept away from the tip of the screwdriver. Choose a screwdriver large enough to create space under the upper cover.
- Use the screwdriver to pry and push the upper cover A upwards. Be careful not to touch the battery with the screwdriver.
- Hold the battery B and remove it.
- Extract the battery and separate it from the left earphone by cutting the cables one by one with scissors. Insulate the parts of the battery cables you have removed with insulating tape. Do not damage or disassemble the battery.
