Operation Instructions

Installation and Connection

Unpack all parts and remove protective material. Before connecting, check mains voltage and ensure adequate ventilation (several centimetres around the unit).

  1. Connect the power cord (25) to an AC outlet.
  2. Press the Power on/off/Function button (13) to turn on the unit. The LCD display (2) will light up.
  3. Set the function to FM (Tuner) mode using button (13). If sound is heard, the power supply is normal.

Listening to DAB/FM Radio

Getting Started

FM Radio - Auto Scan

  1. Select FM mode.
  2. Press the “Scan” button (4) to auto-search the nearest FM station forward and stop. Press again for the next station.
  3. Press and hold the “Scan” button (4) for 2-3 seconds to auto-search backward.
  4. Adjust the volume knob (9) to the desired level.

FM Radio - Manual Tuning

  1. Turn the “Select/Enter” knob (3) to tune to the desired station manually.
  2. Adjust the volume knob (9) to the desired level.

FM & FM-Stereo Reception

The unit defaults to FM mode. If reception is strong, it will be stereo; otherwise, it will be mono. During tuner mode, press the Play/pause/Enter button (14) on the remote to switch between mono/auto FM mode. Mono is recommended for weak stereo signals.

DAB Radio - Auto Scan

  1. Select DAB mode. The unit will scan for DAB stations automatically.
  2. Use the “Scan” button (4) to auto-search forward or hold for backward search.
  3. Adjust the volume knob (9) to the desired level.

DAB Radio - Manual Tuning

  1. Turn the “Select/Enter” knob (3) to tune to the desired station manually.
  2. Adjust the volume knob (9) to the desired level.

Radio Data System (RDS)

Press the Info button (11) continuously to display radio text, program type, reception, time/date, frequency, and mono/stereo status.

Hints for Best Reception

Extend the external DAB/FM antenna connected to socket (22).

Preset Stations (by remote control)

Store up to 20 radio stations (10 FM/10 DAB).

  1. Set to FM/DAB mode.
  2. Tune to the desired station.
  3. Press and hold the Preset button (12) for approximately two seconds to enable memory state ("Empty P1" will display).
  4. Use the Tuner/Menu +/- buttons on the remote to select the desired memory slot.
  5. Press the Preset button (12) to confirm storing.
  6. Repeat steps 2-5 for other stations.

Recall Preset Stations

  1. Press the Preset button (12) once to enable recall state.
  2. Use the Tuner/Menu +/- buttons to select the desired preset station.
  3. Press the Preset button (12) to confirm selection.

Preset stations are cancelled if the main power supply is disconnected. It is recommended to switch the system to standby mode for convenience. You can overwrite a preset station by storing another frequency.

Playing Compact Disc (CD/MP3)

Getting Started

  1. Turn on the unit (13) and select "CD mode" using button (13).
  2. Press the “Open/Close” button (6) to open the CD door.
  3. Place a CD with the printed side facing up inside the tray and close the door.
  4. The unit will perform focus search and start playback automatically, displaying track number and playing time.

For MP3 Disc

ID3 Tag Function (by remote handset)

Press the Info button (11) during MP3 playback to display song information (Artist, Album, File, Title). Press Info again to disable.

Remarks:

Play Mode (Repeat/Random)

Press the Play button (5) before or during playback to select modes:

Repeat Play: Listen to a track or folder repeatedly.

Random Play: Listen to tracks or folders in a random order.

CD/MP3 Disc Programming (by remote control)

Program up to 20 tracks. Ensure the system is in stop mode before programming.

  1. Set to CD/USB/SD mode and stop playback.
  2. Press the “Program” button on the remote; "MEM" indicator will appear.
  3. Select a desired track using skip buttons.
  4. Press the “Program” button to store the track.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for additional tracks.
  6. Press CD “Play/Pause” to play the programmed tracks.
  7. To cancel programming, press “Stop” button twice until "MEM" disappears.

Playback of MP3 Song via USB Storage Media

Connecting

The system can decode and play MP3 files from USB storage media.

  1. Turn on the unit (13) and select "USB mode".
  2. Plug in the USB drive correctly (face up, completely, straight). Warning: Incorrect insertion can damage the system or storage media.
  3. The system will read the media automatically, displaying track number and playback time.
  4. Playback procedures are similar to CD/MP3 disc playback.

Listening to Tape

General Operation

Cassette playback starts automatically after inserting a tape.

Stop and Ejection

Press the "Tape forward/eject" button (17) completely inwards to eject the cassette. The button will remain depressed.

Fast Forward

Press the "Tape forward/eject" button (17) half inwards during playback to wind the tape forward. The button will remain half-pressed. Press again to resume normal playback.

Remarks:

Phono (Turntable)

Remarks: Remove the stylus protector. Ensure the tone arm is detached from its rest and re-secured afterwards.

  1. Turn on the unit (13) and select "PHONO mode".
  2. Set the speed selector according to the record.
  3. Place the record on the platter (use spindle adaptor if needed).
  4. Lift the tone arm and move it to the record side; the platter will start rotating.
  5. Place the tone arm at the desired position on the record.
  6. Adjust the volume (9).
  7. At the end of the record, the platter stops automatically. Lift the tone arm to its rest.
  8. To stop manually, lift the tone arm to its rest.

Auto-stop Remark: If the auto-stop activates before the end of the record, set the auto-stop switch (24) to "off". The record will play to the end but will not stop automatically. Turn off the unit or switch the auto-stop back to "on" to stop the platter.

Line Out Connection

Connect the line out socket to your hi-fi system's auxiliary input using an RCA cable (not included).

Mute / EQ Operation

Encoding of CD disc / Phono or Cassette tape into MP3 file

The system can encode CD, DAB/FM radio, records (Phono), and cassette tapes to MP3 format on a USB connecting port or SD/MMC card.

A) CD/MP3 Encoding

I) Recording 1 Track
  1. Plug in a USB pen drive with sufficient empty space.
  2. Play the desired CD track.
  3. Press the “Record“ button (7) during playback. The display will show “CHECK”, then “REC USB”.
  4. Press the “Record“ button twice; the display will show “REC ONE”.
  5. Press the “Record“ button a third time to start recording the track. Progress is shown from 01 to 100.
II) Recording the Complete CD/MP3
  1. Plug in a USB pen drive with sufficient empty space.
  2. Insert the CD and press “Stop“ button (12) to set in stop mode.
  3. Press the “Record“ button (7) during CD stop mode. The display will show “CHECK”, then “REC USB”.
  4. Press the “Record“ button a second time; the display will show “REC ALL”.
  5. Press the “Record“ button a third time to start recording all tracks on the CD. The unit will stop automatically.

B) Phono/Cassette Encoding

  1. Plug in a USB pen drive with sufficient empty space.
  2. Play the desired tape or record.
  3. Press the “Record“ button (7) three times until the display flashes “REC USB”.
  4. Start playback of the track you want to record to USB.
  5. Press the “Stop” button (12) once to terminate recording.

C) DAB/FM Encoding

  1. Plug in a USB pen drive with sufficient empty space.
  2. During DAB or FM playback, press the “Record“ button (7) twice until the display flashes “REC USB”.
  3. Press the “Stop” button (12) once to terminate recording.

Encoding Remarks:

File Delete at USB (by remote control)

A) Single File Delete

  1. Select "USB" mode.
  2. Press the "Delete" button on the remote (display shows "DEL -T001").
  3. Use Skip forward (▶▶) or Skip backward (◀◀) buttons to select the file.
  4. Press "Delete" to enter "YES/NO" mode. Use Skip buttons to select "YES" or "NO".
  5. Press "Delete" again to confirm.

B) All Files Delete

  1. Select "USB" mode.
  2. Press and hold the "Delete" button for 2-3 seconds (display shows "DEL - A").
  3. Press "Delete" to enter "YES/NO" mode. Use Skip buttons to select "YES" or "NO".
  4. Press "Delete" again to confirm.

Remark: All files on USB/SD card will be deleted after confirming "Yes". Press "Stop" once to quit delete mode.

Removing of USB

Turn off the power or switch the function mode to CD, Tape, or Tuner before unplugging the USB drive.

Remote Control Transmitter

Battery Installation: Requires 2x AAA batteries (not provided).

Warnings and Safety Instructions

Plug Wiring (UK & Ireland)

This appliance is fitted with a BS 1363 13-amp plug. If replacing the fuse, use only ASTA or BSI approved fuses rated at 13-amps. Ensure the fuse cover is refitted after changing the fuse; do not use if the cover is lost or damaged. Spare fuses are available from electrical outlets.

If your home socket outlets are unsuitable for this plug, remove and dispose of the plug safely. Attempting to insert the plug into the wrong socket may cause electric hazard.

Wiring Instructions: The mains cable contains inner wires with copper cores and plastic outer layers. This product is double insulated and may only have Brown (Live) and Blue (Neutral) wires. The Green & Yellow (Earth) wire is not required for double insulated appliances.

Diagram Description: A correctly wired three-pin mains plug typically has a Brown wire connected to the Live terminal, a Blue wire to the Neutral terminal, and a Green & Yellow wire to the Earth terminal.

Care and Cleaning Instructions

Wipe surfaces with a soft dry cloth.

Disposal

Dispose of all packaging, paper, cartons, plastic, and plastic bags in accordance with your local recycling regulations. At the end of the product's lifespan, dispose of it at an authorized household WEEE waste recycling centre.
