Steering Wheel Adjustment

Adjusting the Steering Wheel

It is prohibited to adjust the steering column while the vehicle is in motion.

  1. Electric Adjustment: Move the control up or down to adjust the tilt/height. Slide the control forward or backward to adjust the reach.
  2. Heated Steering Wheel: Press to turn on and off. The amber indicator on the control illuminates when the heating is active.

Easy Entry/Exit Mode:

When the steering column control (1) is set to AUTO, the steering wheel and driver's seat move to provide more comfortable entry and exit from the vehicle.

Upon opening the driver's door, the system moves the steering column to its uppermost position and lowers the driver's seat to its lowest position to facilitate exiting the vehicle. When the driver's door is closed and the ignition is switched on, the steering wheel and seat return to their previous positions.

Note: If the driver's seat or steering column adjustment is performed while the Easy Entry/Exit function is active, the automatic movement will cease.

To prevent the automatic movement of the driver's seat and steering wheel, turn the control clockwise to the manual adjustment position.

Note: If the steering wheel control is moved from the AUTO position when the driver's seat and steering column are in the exit position, then upon closing the driver's door and switching on the ignition, the seat and column will move to the previous position.

Power Steering System

A message on the information display, accompanied by the illumination of the amber warning/information symbol (see page 67, GENERAL WARNING/INFORMATION MESSAGE (AMBER)), indicates a malfunction in the power steering system. This may be accompanied by a reduction in the effectiveness of the power steering system. The malfunction may be caused by overheating due to intensive use of the steering wheel or high ambient temperatures.

Once the system has cooled down, the power steering system functions should return to normal. If the power steering system functions do not restore, consult a Land Rover dealer or authorized workshop.
