Setting Up a 2.4GHz Guest Network on Telstra Routers DJA0230/DJA0231
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for configuring a 2.4GHz guest Wi-Fi network on Telstra routers, models DJA0230 and DJA0231, often used with the Mirabella Genio app.
Login to Router Settings
Open any web browser and type http://mymodem into the address bar. Press Enter.
You will be directed to the Telstra logon screen. Click the login button, typically located on the top right. You will then be prompted for a username and password. The default credentials are: username:
admin
, password:Telstra
(with a capital 'T').Navigate to Wi-Fi Settings
Once logged in, click on the [Wi-Fi icon] icon. This icon is usually the third from the left in the navigation bar, alongside options like [Home], [Broadband], [Content Sharing], and [Parental Control]. Wait for the Wi-Fi settings page to load.
Select Guest Network Option
On the Wi-Fi page, locate and click the 'Guest1' tag. There are typically four tags available: 2.4GHz, 5GHz, Guest1, and Guest1_5G. Wait for the Guest1 configuration page to load.
Activate and Configure Guest Network
Ensure the [Enabled checkbox ticked] checkbox for the guest network is ticked. Note down the 'Network name' (also known as SSID) and the 'Network Key' (Wi-Fi password) displayed on this page. These are essential for connecting devices to your guest network.
The router interface displays Wi-Fi settings. Under 'Wi-Fi Radio', an 'Enabled' checkbox is present. Below, in the 'Wi-Fi Network' section, another 'Enabled' checkbox is shown. Text labels point to the 'Network Name' and 'Network Key' fields, indicating where to record them. A 'Band Steering Enabled' checkbox is also visible, with a description of its function. 'Cancel' and 'Save' buttons are located at the bottom.
Save Settings
Click the [Save button] to apply your changes. You may also see a [Cancel button].
Connect Your Device
On your smartphone (e.g., iPhone), go to [Settings] -> [Wi-Fi]. Select the 'Guest1' network name you recorded earlier and enter the corresponding network key (Wi-Fi password) to connect.
Prepare Device for Pairing
Reset your device. It should now be blinking, indicating it is ready to connect.
Pair Device with Genio App
Open the genio App. When prompted to pair your device, enter the 'Guest1' Wi-Fi network name and the network key you previously wrote down.
