Diagram Description: A line drawing illustrates the digital micrometer. Key dimensions are labeled: L (length), B (width), D (depth), and a circular measurement point with diameter indicated as Ø6.5. The main body of the micrometer shows the digital display, control buttons (SET, UNIT, 0/MODE), and the measuring spindle.
Functions
- SET: Resets the zero point in absolute measurements.
- 0/MODE: Switches the device on. Allows switching between absolute and relative measurement modes. Resets zero in relative measurements.
- HOLD: Holds the measured value. Can also be used to output measurement results to an external socket (details not specified).
- UNIT: Switches between metric and English measurement systems. A long press turns the device off.
Operation
- Clean the oil from the measuring surfaces of the micrometer with a cloth.
- If necessary, open the battery cover and insert the battery (type CR2032), observing the correct polarity. Blinking display information or absence of display suggests battery replacement. After battery replacement, press the SET button to set the zero point to 0.000.
- Turn on the display by pressing the 0/MODE button.
- Verify the display is set to zero. Bring the measuring surfaces of the anvil and spindle into contact (or use a setting gauge), utilize the ratchet, and take a measurement. Rotate the micrometer screw in the direction of convergence using the ratchet. Note: A hole located at the end of the screw is used only for the reverse spindle.
- For zero setting, press and hold the O/MODE or SET button to reset to Zero.
- After switching on, the display shows the measured value in the selected metric or English system of units. Press the UNIT button to switch between these systems.
- The display shows measurements in absolute or relative terms. Press the 0/MODE button to switch between absolute and relative measurement modes.
- During measurement, the thimble should rotate only by the ratchet. Ensure the workpiece is in firm contact with the measuring surfaces of the micrometer, engaging the ratchet 2-3 times. Avoid warping the measuring surfaces.
- This micrometer features an auto switch-off function after 10 minutes of non-use. To switch off manually, press and hold the UNIT button for 2 seconds.
- After use, wipe the measuring surfaces of the micrometer with a cloth and apply anticorrosive oil.
WARNING!
- Avoid contact between the micrometer's body electronics and emulsions or oils.
- During measurements, periodically check the micrometer's zero setting.
- Do not rotate the micrometer screw using the thimble when the measuring surfaces are close together.
- Avoid shocks or dropping the micrometer, even from a small height.
- Do not disassemble or adjust the micrometer unless you are a qualified service person.
