Device Description
The Newell electronic timer remote is a versatile accessory for controlling camera functions.

The device does not have a power switch. To conserve battery power, ensure the TIMER ACTIVE, SET, and RELEASE indicators are turned off.
To switch on the display illumination, briefly press the illumination/lock button. To lock the buttons, press and hold the light/lock button until the [L icon] appears on the display.
Use
Connecting the Cable to the Camera:
- Turn off the camera.
- Ensure the TIMER ACTIVE, SET, and RELEASE indicators are off.
- Connect the cable connector to the device's socket.
Electronic Remote Release Cable Functions:
The cable can be used as:
- Timer: Program delayed triggers, exposures, intervals, and the number of photos.
- Manual Shutter Release: Manually trigger the remote shutter release.
Camera Settings for Operation:
- Exposure mode: Manual (M)
- Time: Bulb
- Intervalometer: Off
- Auto focus mode: AF - AFC or Manual
- Burst mode: Off
Programming the Timer:
- Press the SET button; the cursor [cursor icon] will start blinking on the display.
- Use the directional arrows [Left/Right arrow, Up/Down arrow] to program the timer settings: Right/Left for selection, Up/Down to change values. The cursor indicates the current position.
- Press SET to confirm each setting.
Timer Parameters:
- DELAY: Shutter release delay (time before shutter opens).
- LONG: Exposure time (duration the shutter remains open).
- INTVL: Interval (time between the end of one exposure and the start of the next).
- N: Number of photos (frames to capture).
- Sound: Controls the audible feedback [Sound icon] on/off.
Timing Considerations:
- For correct operation, the interval should be at least 1 second longer than the exposure time.
- When using autofocus, the delay should be at least 2 seconds, and the interval at least 2 seconds longer than the exposure time.
- When using noise reduction functions with long exposures, the interval should be set to at least twice the exposure time.
Starting the Program:
- Press the TIMER START/STOP button. The timer will begin, and the [flashing icon] on the display will start blinking.
- The display shows the remaining time until the next photo.
- While the camera shutter is open, the display shows the time until the shutter closes, and the RELEASE indicator [RELEASE indicator] blinks.
- The program ends automatically when the preset number of shots is reached. To stop the program at any time, press TIMER START/STOP.
Manual Operation (Bulb Mode):
To open the shutter in Bulb mode, press the shutter release button and slide it to the [HOLD position]. Slide in the opposite direction to finish.
The electronic cable release can also be used in manual mode without batteries inserted. In this mode, the display and acoustic signal will not be active.
