1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Before using the product, please read the following instruction manual carefully and keep it for future reference. When transferring the product to a third party, it is advisable to include the instructions.
- Do not disassemble or modify the device.
- Do not allow water to penetrate.
- Do not use near flammable gases.
- Do not expose to high temperatures.
- Keep out of the reach of children.
- Do not short circuit.
- Switch off / unplug immediately in the event of a fault.
- Use the batteries in accordance with their instructions for use.
- Insert the batteries with the correct polarity.
- Remove the batteries if you do not plan to use the device for a long time.
2. DEVICE DESCRIPTION
The Newell Electronic Timer Remote is a handheld device with a cable for controlling camera functions. The device features the following components:
- 1. Connector: Connects to the camera.
- 2. Cable: Transmits signals to the camera.
- 3. Diode: Indicator light.
- 4. Display: Shows settings and status.
- 5. Start / stop timer button: Initiates or stops the programmed sequence.
- 6. Set button: Used to confirm settings and navigate.
- 7. Backlight / Lockout button: Activates display illumination or locks buttons.
- 8. Directional arrows: Navigate through settings and adjust values.
- 9. Shutter release: Triggers the camera shutter.
- 10. Battery compartment cover: Houses the batteries.
- 11. Lanyard clip: For attaching a lanyard.
The display shows various indicators:
- 1. Cursor: Indicates the current selection.
- 2. Time: Displays programmed delay, exposure, or interval times.
- 3. Lock indicator: Shows when buttons are locked (typically an "L" icon).
- 4. Low indicator: Signals low battery levels.
- 5. Timer indicator: Shows the timer is active.
- 6. Sound: Indicates if audible beeps are enabled.
- 7. Set: Confirms settings.
- 8. Open shutter: Indicates the shutter is currently open.
- 9. Number of photos: Displays the count of photos taken or remaining.

Device Operation Notes:
- The device is not equipped with a switch. To save battery power, ensure the TIMER ACTIVE, SET, and RELEASE indicators are turned off.
- To switch on the illumination: briefly press the illumination / lock button.
- To lock the buttons: press and hold the light/lock button until the "L" icon appears on the display.
4. HOW TO USE
Connecting the cable to the camera:
- Turn off the camera.
- Ensure that the TIMER ACTIVE, SET, and RELEASE indicators are off.
- Connect the cable connector to the socket on the device.
The electronic remote release cable can be used as:
- Timer: The ability to program a delayed trigger, exposure, intervals, and number of photos.
- Manual shutter release: For manual triggering of the remote shutter release.
1. Settings on the camera:
- Exposure mode – M (manual)
- Time - Bulb
- Intervalometer - off
- Auto focus mode - AF - AFC or Manual
- Burst mode - off
2. Programming the timer
Press SET – the icon starts blinking on the display. The display will show settings for DELAY, LONG (exposure time), INTVL (interval), and N (number of photos). A musical note symbol (♪) indicates sound on/off.
Timing Sequence Description: The sequence involves Delay, Exposure time, and Interval between shots, with a specified Number of photos (N). The diagram illustrates the shutter state (open/closed) over time, showing the start and end timers.
Timing Rules:
- To ensure correct operation, the interval should be at least 1 second longer than the exposure time.
- When using autofocus, the delay should be at least 2 seconds and the interval at least 2 seconds longer than the exposure time.
- When using the noise reduction function with long exposures, the interval should be set to at least twice the exposure time.
The electronic cable release can also be used in manual mode (without batteries inserted). In this mode, the display and the acoustic signal will not be active.
Connecting the cable to the camera (for manual use):
- Turn on the camera.
- Set the exposure mode, time, autofocus mode, and other settings to ensure correct exposure.
- Press the shutter release button halfway. If the focus and exposure are correct, press the button the rest of the way down to take the picture.
3. Starting the program
Press TIMER START/STOP. The timer will start, and the icon on the display will begin flashing.
- The display shows the time remaining until the next photo.
- While the camera shutter is open, the display shows the time remaining until the shutter is closed, and the RELEASE icon blinks.
- The program will end automatically when the preset number of shots is reached. To stop at any time, press TIMER START/STOP.
To open the shutter in Bulb mode: Press and slide the button to the HOLD position. Slide in the opposite direction to finish.
5. WASTE MANAGEMENT
[Crossed-out Trashcan Symbol] The crossed-out trashcan symbol means that waste electrical and electronic equipment, batteries, and packagings must not be placed with other household waste. They must be handed over to a separate waste collection system.
