Eaton Pressure Filter, Changeover
Series DUA 2005-4005
DN100 PN22
Sheet No. 2212 B
Description
Eaton DUA 2005-4005 series changeover pressure filters are designed for working pressures up to 22 bar, capable of absorbing pressure peaks with a sufficient safety margin. A changeover ball valve allows switching between the two filter housings, enabling operation to continue without interruption from the dirty filter side to the clean filter side. These filters can be installed as suction filters.
The filter element features star-shaped, pleated filter material, supported internally by a perforated core tube and bonded to the end caps with high-quality adhesive. Flow direction is from outside to inside.
For cleaning stainless steel mesh elements (refer to special leaflets 21070-4 and 39448-4) or changing filter elements, remove the cover and extract the element. Mesh elements may not guarantee 100% performance after cleaning.
For filtration finer than 40 µm, disposable microglass elements are recommended. Filter elements as fine as 5 µm(c) are available, with finer options upon request.
Eaton filter elements are recognized for their high intrinsic stability, excellent filtration capability, high dirt-retaining capacity, and long service life. They are suitable for petroleum-based fluids, HW emulsions, water glycols, most synthetic fluids, and lubrication fluids. Consult the factory for specific fluid applications. Ship classifications are available upon request.

Pressure Drop Flow Curves
Filter Calculation/Sizing
The pressure drop of the assembly at a given flow rate Q is the sum of the housing Δp and the element Δp and is calculated as follows:
Δp assembly = Δp housing + Δp element
Δp housing = (see Δp = f (Q) - characteristics)
Δp Element (mbar) = Q (l/min) × MSK (mbar/(l/min)) × (mm²/s / 30 mm²/s) × (kg/dm³ / 0,876 kg/dm³)
For ease of calculation, Eaton's Filter Selection tool is available online at: www.eaton.com/hydraulic-filter-evaluation
Material Gradient Coefficients (MSK) for Filter Elements
The material gradient coefficients in mbar/(l/min) apply to mineral oil (HLP) with a density of 0,876 kg/dm³ and a kinematic viscosity of 30 mm²/s (139 SUS). The pressure drop changes proportionally to the change in kinematic viscosity and density.

Δp = f(Q) – Characteristics (according to ISO 3968)
The pressure drop characteristics apply to mineral oil (HLP) with a density of 0,876 kg/dm³. The pressure drop changes proportionally to the density.
Diagram Description (Page 3): A line graph titled "DUA.2005/3005/4005 Housing Pressure Drop" plots pressure drop (Δp in bar) on the Y-axis against flow rate (l/min) on the X-axis. Two lines are shown, representing different kinematic viscosities: one for 30 mm²/s and another for 100 mm²/s. The graph illustrates how pressure drop increases with flow rate for the filter housing.
