Preparation for Installation
- Carefully remove all contents from the carton.
- Shut off power at the circuit breaker and remove the old fixture and mounting bracket.
- Remove cap nuts (H) from mounting screws (A).
- Place the mounting plate (B) over the junction box, ensuring mounting screws (A) and nuts (C) extend out.
- Adjust mounting screws (A) to extend 5-6 mm through the canopy (F) for proper cap nut fit. Ensure the canopy will be flush with the ceiling. Tighten nuts (C) on mounting screws (A) to secure them.
- Pull house wires through the center of the mounting plate (B).
- Secure the mounting plate (B) to the junction box using screws (D).
Assembling the Fixture
1. For Pendant Installation:
Use the included 12-inch rods (K) and 6-inch rod (L) to achieve the desired hanging height. Add rods to lengthen, or trim wires to shorten. Ensure at least 8-10 inches of wire remain beyond the desired length. Discard excess rods. At least one rod must be used. Thread wires through the rods, pulling taut. Engage all threads but do not overtighten. Screw the rod onto the fixture's threaded post (M). Pull fixture wires through the top of the canopy (F). Screw the top rod to the hang straight (I) on the canopy (F).
Hunter Pro Tip: Twist or tape wire ends together to make them easier to pass through the downrods. The threaded post may also be removed for easier wire access.
Notice: To use a 12-inch rod by itself, remove the post from the 6-inch rod and install it on one end of the 12-inch rod.
2. For Semi-Flush Installation:
Unscrew the hex nut (Q) and set aside with washers (R, S) from inside the canopy (F). Remove the hang straight (I) from the canopy (F). Pass the fixture's wires and threaded post (M) through the canopy (F). Secure it inside the canopy (F) with washer (S), washer (R), and hex nut (Q).
Connecting the Wires
With a helper supporting the fixture's weight:
- Connect fixture wires to the power supply wires from the junction box.
- Live: Connect fixture black wire to house black wire.
- Grounded: Connect fixture white wire to house white wire.
- Grounding: Connect fixture green or copper wire to house green or copper wire.
- Twist wire ends together securely and use wire connectors. Ensure twists are in the same direction.
- Loop the fixture's ground wire around the grounding screw (E) and tighten.
- If the junction box lacks a ground wire, contact a qualified electrician.
Finishing the Installation
- Raise the canopy (F) to the mounting plate (B). Position mounting screws (A) so they protrude through the canopy openings.
- Secure the canopy (F) in place using cap nuts (H).
- Install a light bulb (not included) according to fixture specifications. Do not exceed the recommended wattage.
- Secure the glass shade (P) onto the socket (N) using screws (O).
- Your installation is now complete. Turn on the power and test the fixture.
Cleaning Tips
Treat the fixture gently. Regular cleaning reduces the need for deep cleaning. Turn off the light before cleaning. Wipe the fixture with a clean, lint-free cotton or microfiber cloth. Never spray cleaner directly onto the fixture.
