Introduction
The Unitree R3-1 remote control is a high-end remote control device designed specifically for the consumer market. It deeply integrates Unitree’s self-developed high-performance data transmission module and Bluetooth transmission technology, and is committed to bringing users an intuitive, responsive, and efficient control experience. This remote control is optimized specifically for the four-legged robots and humanoid robots of the Unitree full product line.
Through its powerful data transmission module, it enables real-time communication with the robot, allowing users to control the four-legged robot to achieve stable control of 3-axis posture and 3-axis position while standing, and also to manipulate the robotic dog to achieve forward and backward movement, sideways movement, turning in place, walking according to certain rules (straight line, circle, line, rectangle), up and down slopes/steps, dancing, and other actions on flat ground. The R3-1 remote control has a unique design and adopts an ergonomic two-hand grip structure to ensure comfort during prolonged use and greatly enhance the convenience of control.

Install The Joystick
Please follow the steps below to install the joystick:
- Step 1: Take out the joystick. As shown in the picture, use your right hand to pull out the remote control smoothly and slowly, and remove the two joysticks from the storage slot.
- Step 2: Install the remote control. As shown in the figure, secure the remote control to the remote control in a clockwise direction and tighten it.
Tip: If you need to store it, please remove the remote control and place it in the storage slot.
Joystick Calibration
Hold the remote without touching the joystick. Press and hold buttons F1 and F3 on the remote for more than three seconds, then release them simultaneously. The remote will emit a continuous “Beep~ Beep~” sound (once per second), indicating it has entered calibration mode. After entering the calibration mode, fully deflect the left and right joysticks in their respective directions and rotate them several times until the “Beep~ Beep~ Beep~” sound stops, signifying the completion of the calibration process. If the sound heard is “Drip~ Drip~,” it indicates a failed calibration.
Tip: When calibrating the remote rod, please do not touch the rocker before calibration. The rocker can only be moved after entering the calibration mode.
Power
Remote Control Turn on/Turn off
- Turn On the Remote Control: Press the power button briefly once, followed by holding it down for more than 2 seconds. You will hear two short “Beep~ Beep~” sounds, indicating that the remote control is turned on.
- Turn Off the Remote Control: Press the power button briefly once again, and then hold it down for over 2 seconds. Upon hearing three consecutive “Beep~ Beep~ Beep~” sounds, the remote control will be turned off.
Vibration/sound switching
- Switching vibration: Quickly press the F3 button 3 times to switch to vibration mode.
- Switch sound: Quickly press the F3 button 3 times to switch to sound mode.
Remote Control Charging
When the remote control battery indicator shows low power, the remote control should be connected to the charger, as shown in the figure below:
- We recommend you to use a 5V/1A USB charger which meets FCC/CE standard.
- Ensure that remote control is switched off before charging it.
- The power indicator light will flash at 1Hz (1 second/time) in charging status and indicate the current power level.
- When the power indicator light is all off it means the battery pack is full, please remove the charger to finish charging.
