Installation Instructions

Thank you for purchasing this Baldwin wall light. Please read the instructions carefully before use to ensure safe and satisfactory operation of this product.

Warnings!

1. This is a Class 1 product and must be earthed.
2. Please read these instructions carefully before commencing any work. It is recommended that this fitting is installed by a qualified electrician.
3. Install in accordance with the IEE Wiring regulations and the Building Regulations.
4. To prevent electric shock switch off at mains supply before installing or maintaining this fitting. Ensure other persons cannot restore the electrical supply without your knowledge.
5. If you are in any doubt, please consult a qualified electrician.
6. This light fitting should be connected to a 5 amp fused circuit.
7. If replacing an existing fitting, make a note of the connections.
8. This product is rated IP44 and is suitable for outdoor use.
9. This product is suitable for installation on surfaces with normal flammability e.g. wood, plasterboard, masonry. It is not suitable for use on highly flammable surfaces (e.g. polystyrene, textiles).
10. For your safety, always switch off the supply before changing lightbulbs, cleaning or removing shades.
11. Always take care when handling lightbulbs to avoid injury in case of breakage.

Parts List

Assembly

Carefully unpack the carton, making sure all the parts are present before assembly.

Step 1

Before removing the existing fitting, carefully note the position of each set of wires.

Step 2

Refer to Figure 1. Remove the fixing bracket (A) from the fitting by removing side screws (B).

Step 3

Refer to Figure 2. Using the screws provided in the fixing pack, secure the bracket to the wall. Take care to avoid damaging any concealed wiring and pipes.

Step 4

Remove the terminal box lid and set aside. Having identified the household wiring from your existing light fitting, connect to the outdoor rated connection block inside the product in the following way. Once complete, refit the terminal box lid securely.

Household Supply:

• NEUTRAL (Blue)
• EARTH (Green/Yellow - Metallic Earth Connection)
• SWITCHED LIVE (Brown)

Light Fitting:

• NEUTRAL (Blue)
• EARTH (Green/Yellow)
• LIVE (Brown)

Check that...

• You have correctly identified the house wires.
• The connections are tight.
• No loose strands have been left out of the connection block.
• Ensure the grommet is in place to maintain IP rating.
• The terminal box lid is refitted securely.

Step 5

Refer to Figure 3. Attach the product to the fixing bracket (A) using side screws (B) by locating the screws in the bracket into the holes in the sides of the fitting (C) and tightening the screws to secure. Take care not to trap any wiring.

Step 6

Fit the bulb as per the details overleaf.

Step 7

Refer to Figure 3. Fit the shade (D) by screwing it onto the lampholder. Ensure the seal is tight to maintain ingress protection.

Step 8

Refer to Figure 3. Replace fuse or circuit breaker and switch on. Your light is now ready for use.

Care Instructions

We recommend cleaning with a soft dry cloth. Do not use abrasive materials as these will damage the finish.
