Safety Instruction

5. Do not use this apparatus near water.
6. Clean only with dry cloth.
7. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
8. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
9. Use only attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
10. Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.
11. Correct disposal of this product: This symbol indicates that this product must not be disposed of with household waste, according to the WEEE Directive (2012/19/ EU) and your national law. This product should be taken to a collection center licensed for the recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). The mishandling of this type of waste could have a possible negative impact on the environment and human health due to potentially hazardous substances that are generally associated with EEE. At the same time, your cooperation in the correct disposal of this product will contribute to the efficient use of natural resources. For more information about where you can take your waste equipment for recycling, please contact your local city office, or your household waste collection service.
12. Do not install in a confined space, such as a book case or similar unit.
13. Do not place naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, on the apparatus.
Controls
(1) PAD - switch incrementally reduces the INPUT gain sensitivity to handle unusually loud input signals. The PAD switch offers gain reduction settings of 0 dB (guitar), 20 dB (line) or 40 dB (speaker).
(2) INPUT - connections accept balanced and unbalanced signals over cables with ¼” TRS, ¼” TS or XLR plugs.
(3) THRU - output sends out a copy of the INPUT signal and accepts connections from cables with ¼” TRS or ¼” TS plugs.
(4) POWER - switch turns the unit on and off.
(5) ON - LED lights up to indicate the following conditions:
- battery power active = LED blinks
- battery power off = LED off
- phantom power active = LED lights without blinking
(6) LIFT / EARTH - switch can be used to connect or disconnect the ground link between the INPUT and OUTPUT jacks in order to reduce hum or prevent ground loops. The LIFT / EARTH switch’s ability to reduce hum or prevent ground loops depends on the grounding of connected devices. When the switch is in the LIFT position, the ground connection between INPUT and OUTPUT is disconnected.
(7) OUTPUT - XLR jack sends out a balanced version of the INPUT signal to your mixing board or other processing device.
(8) BATTERY COMPARTMENT - contains the 9 V battery used to power the unit. Loosen the screw to open the compartment and replace the battery.
NOTE: In the event that phantom power fails, the unit will automatically switch to battery power.

Batteries (battery pack or batteries installed) shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
WARNING
- As with all small batteries, the batteries used with this product should be kept away from small children who still put things in their mouths. If they are swallowed, promptly call your local poison control center.
- Always purchase the correct size and grade of battery most suitable for intended use.
- Replace all batteries of a set at the same time.
- Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior to battery installation.
- Ensure the batteries are installed correctly with the regard to polarity (+ and -).
- Always remove battery if consumed or if product is to be left unused for a long time.
- Replacement of a battery with an incorrect type that can defeat a safeguard! Replace only with the same or equivalent type!
- Risk of fire or explosion if the battery is replaced by an incorrect type.
- disposal of a battery into fire or a hot oven, or mechanically crushing or cutting of a battery, that can result in an explosion;
- Leaving a battery in an extremely high temperature surrounding environment that can result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas; and
- A battery subjected to extremely low air pressure that may result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
- Attention should be drawn to the environmental aspects of battery disposal.
