When Installing the unit
- WARNING: Do not expose the unit to rain or an environment where it may be splashed by water or other liquids, as doing so may result in fire or electric shock.
- WARNING: Use the unit only with the voltage specified on the unit. Using a voltage higher than that which is specified may result in fire or electric shock.
- WARNING: Do not cut, kink, otherwise damage nor modify the power supply cord. In addition, avoid using the power cord in close proximity to heaters, and never place heavy objects -- including the unit itself -- on the power cord, as doing so may result in fire or electric shock.
- WARNING: Avoid installing or mounting the unit in unstable locations, such as on a rickety table or slanted surface. Doing so may result in the unit falling down and causing personal injury and/or property damage.
- WARNING: To prevent lightning strikes, install the unit at least five meters away from the lightning rod, and yet within the protective range (angle of 45°) of the lightning conductor. Lightning strikes may cause fire, electric shock, or personal injury.
- CAUTION: Never plug in or remove the power supply plug with wet hands, as doing so may cause electric shock.
- CAUTION: When unplugging the power supply cord, be sure to grasp the power supply plug, never pull on the cord itself. Operating the unit with a damaged power supply cord may cause a fire or electric shock.

- CAUTION: The socket outlet shall be installed near the equipment and the plug (disconnecting device) shall be easily accessible.
2. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The MD-200-AS is a media player and digital processing FM radio tuner. The unit has a USB and SD card slot that allows MP3 playback. It also has the capability to store up to 30 radio channels, which can be recalled with one touch of a button. The unit can be mounted on an EIA equipment rack.

3. NOMENCLATURE AND FUNCTIONS
3.1. FRONT AND REMOTE HANDSET
Front Panel Components:
- 1. Power Switch: Press to activate (turn ON) the Media Player. LCD displays "Welcome" and Tuner Station, button function lights up. Press again to turn OFF.
- 2. Slot for SD Card: Displays "Card", Folder No., and Track Qty when an SD card is plugged in.
- 3. Slot for USB Card: Displays "USB", Folder No., and Track Qty when a USB card is plugged in.
- 4. LCD Display: Shows USB/SD Card status, including track number and playing time.
- 5. USB/SD Indicator: Press the USB/SD/TUNER button on the remote to change the LED Indicator. When the USB/SD Indicator is lit, remote functions are for USB/SD card only.
Remote Handset Functions:
- 6. (▶) or PLAY/PAUSE: Press once to start playing, press again to pause. Displays "Title, No. of Track, Time, Extension Track" with a GREEN backlight. In pause mode, music stops (no sound), displaying "Title, No. of Track, Time (blinking), Extension Track".
- 7. (■) or STOP: Press to stop playing. Displays "Disc", Folder No., and Track Qty with a RED backlight.
- 8. MUTE: Press while playing to mute sound. Press again to resume sound. Displays "MUTE ON" or "MUTE OFF".
- 9. USB/SD: Press to change to USB or SD Card mode. Displays "Reading CARD/USB".
- 10. (?) or REPEAT: (While playing) Switches between: "PLAY ALL", "RANDOM", "REPEAT TRACK", "REPEAT FOLDER", "REPEAT ALL", "RANDOM REPEAT", "PLAY ALL".
- 11. (▶▶) or SKIP: Press to skip to the next track (for USB and SD card). Holding the key fast-forwards (time runs).
- 12. (◀◀) or SKIP: Press to skip to the previous track (for USB and SD card). Holding the key fast-rewinds (time runs).
- 13. (▶) or FOLDER: Press to skip to the next folder (for USB and SD card). Holding the key fast-forwards the folder.
- 14. (◀) or FOLDER: Press to skip to the previous folder (for USB and SD card). Holding the key fast-rewinds the folder.
- 15. PROG: Sets programming mode. Pressing STOP during programming clears all programs. Displays "P-01 000 0000" (P-01 Program No., 000 Folder No., 0000 Track).
- 16. A-B: When pressed during playback, marks the beginning of a time segment. Pressing again marks the end, and the set will play the segment cyclically. Pressing again resets the function.
- 17. PLAY 1: Plays only one track. After finishing, it stops with "PLAY 1" displayed (does not automatically play the next track). To play the next track, press the PLAY button. Pressing this key again while playing stops the current condition, displaying "PLAY ALL".
- 18. RAND: Press to play tracks in random order. Press again to stop random playback. Displays "RANDOM REPEAT" and "RDM"; pressing again removes the text.
- 19. 0-9: Press these keys to select a track directly (1-9999). Also used to select a saved radio frequency station directly.
- 20. 10/0: Press to change to channel station number 10.
- 21. UP: Increases the FM reception frequency by 50 kHz. Holding the button initiates automatic frequency adjustment, stopping when a station is detected. Displays "FM", Frequency Radio Station, "CH" number.
- 22. DOWN: Decreases the FM reception frequency by 50 kHz. Holding the button initiates automatic frequency adjustment, stopping when a station is detected. Displays "FM", Frequency Radio Station, "CH" number.
- 23. MEM: Saves FM station frequencies into preset memory (30 CH total). Press MEM, then a number key to save the displayed frequency. Press MEM again to save to that number key. Displays "CH01", "CH02", ..., "CH30".
- 24. +10/--: Press once to add 10 to the preset station number. Holding the key allows inputting a preset station number using the number keys.
- 25. TUNER Indicator: Press the USB/SD/TUNER button on the remote to change the LED Indicator. When the TUNER Indicator is lit, remote functions are for the tuner only.
- 26. IR: Receives signals from the remote controller.
- 27. FM TUNER Display: Shows FM Tuner status, including FM band and channels memory.
- 28. TUNER USB/SD: Press to change the LED Indicator to show whether the remote is working for USB/SD or Tuner. (Example: TUNER LED Indicator ON means remote functions are for tuner only).
- 29. ID3: (While playing) Press to display information about the USB or SD function. Displays "USB" or "CARD".
- 30. INTRO: Press to introduce each track, showing Title of Song, No. Track, and Time. Introduction lasts about 10 seconds per track. Press again to stop. Displays "INTRO" → Running Title, Time Track, "INT".
- 31. M/S: Changes the audio output of the FM station to MONO or STEREO. Displays "MONO" or "STEREO".
- 32. DIRECT: Direct search function. Press once, use number keys (0-9) to input the station frequency, then press DIRECT again to confirm. The tuner jumps to the station. Displays "ERROR" if the frequency is out of range or incomplete.
- 33. M-DOWN: Searches previously saved Channel Frequencies in descending order.
- 34. M-UP: Searches previously saved Channel Frequencies in ascending order.
- 35. SLEEP: Sets the sleep function. The sleep time flashes for 5 seconds. It cycles from 90 minutes down to 10 minutes, then OFF. The power automatically switches off after the set sleep time. Display shows "90-80-70 60 50 40 30 20 10 OFF Min". The sleep function is cleared by pressing SLEEP until no sleep time is displayed.
- 36. ASM: Auto scan mode and memory function. Press for a few seconds; the tuner searches for stations and stores them in memory automatically (up to 30 CH).
- 37. RDS: Activates the Radio Data System (RDS). RDS embeds digital information into FM broadcasts, providing data like time, radio station name, and program information. Displays "PS NONE → PTY NONE → RT NONE → CT NONE → FREQ. RADIO".
- PS (Program Service): Displays the 8-character name of the radio station.
- PTY (Program Type): Helps users find programs by type.
- RT (Radio Text): Displays up to 64 characters of free text, such as slogans or song titles/artists.
- CT (Clock Time): Displays the clock and date time, synchronized with broadcast data. Accuracy is around 100 ms from UTC.
3.2. REAR
- 38. PRIORITY OUT Stereo Terminals: Provide stereo audio output for priority sources (USB, SD, FM) via RCA jacks.
- 39. TUNER OUT Stereo Terminals: Provide stereo audio output for received radio programs via RCA jacks.
- 40. USB/SD OUT Stereo Terminals: Provide stereo audio output for USB/SD programs via RCA jacks.
- 41. ANTENNA Terminal: Connects to an FM antenna (75 Ohms).
- 42. AC Inlet: Connects to the AC power cord (220-240V).
