3. Hardware Installation

3.1 SIM Card Installation

A. Insert the SIM card into the device following the directional icon. Press the SIM card to eject it. B. Tighten the SIM dust cover with a wrench for water protection.

Note: Ensure the gateway is the cellular version. UG67 does not support hot-plugging; turn off power before inserting or removing cards.

3.2 Antenna Installation

UG67 supports multiple LoRa antenna types. Select the installation type in the web GUI. For better Helium network coverage, double antenna mode is suggested.

  • Internal Antenna Mode: Position the hotspot with its front facing outwards for good signal.
  • Signal Antenna Mode: Install the external antenna on the ANT1 connector.
  • Double Antenna Mode: Use a coaxial cable between an antenna connector (ANT1 recommended) and the LoRa antenna for better performance. The LoRa antenna can be fixed to a pole using the antenna clamp kit, passing it through the clamp, securing with screws, and attaching the U-bolt to the pole.

3.3 Ethernet Cable & Power Cable Installation

Pass the Ethernet cable through the cable gland and tighten it onto the hotspot. Remove the protective cap from the power connector and insert the DC power cable for DC or solar supply.

3.4 Power Supply

UG67 can be powered by 802.3af standard PoE or 12VDC. If a PoE switch is not available, use a PoE injector.

3.5 Hotspot Installation

The UG67 can be mounted to a wall or a pole. Ensure the SIM card is inserted, antennas are attached, and cables are installed before powering on.

3.5.1 Wall Mounting

Preparation: Mounting bracket, wall plugs, wall mounting screws, drill, marker.

A. Align the mounting bracket horizontally, mark four mounting holes, and remove the bracket.

B. Drill four holes (6mm drill bit, 32mm depth) at the marked positions.

C. Insert wall plugs into the holes.

D. Mount the bracket horizontally using wall mounting screws.

E. Hang the device onto the bracket using the bracket mounting screws on the back, then secure with the bracket screw at the bottom.

3.5.2 Pole Mounting

Preparation: Mounting bracket, hose clamp, screwdriver.

A. Loosen the hose clamp counter-clockwise.

B. Slide the hose clamp through the bracket's rectangular rings and wrap it around the pole.

C. Tighten the locking mechanism clockwise with a screwdriver.

D. Hang the device onto the bracket using the bracket mounting screws on the back, then secure with the bracket screw at the bottom.
