The EJEAS Q8 is a versatile intercom system designed for motorcycle riders.

Product Installation

Follow these steps to install the EJEAS Q8 on your helmet:

Basic Operation

Power ON/OFF

ON: Long press the for 1 second until the blue light flashes with a voice prompt "Power On". Illustration shows a 1-second press on the Phone/Power Button.

OFF: Long press the and simultaneously until the voice prompt says "Power off". Illustration shows a simultaneous press on the Phone/Power Button and Intercom Button.

LED Indicator: Blue light flashes slowly: "Di, Di, Di, Di, Di". Indicator light off: "Power Off".

Reset: The device will automatically power off while charging and can be used while charging after powering on.

Low Battery Indication

When the battery is low, the red light flashes twice with a voice prompt "Low Battery". When the battery is extremely low, the device will automatically power off. Illustration shows the unit with a flashing red light indicating low battery.

Charging Indication

The red light is always on when using USB charging. The red light is off when fully charged. Illustration shows the unit connected via USB with a solid red light.

Battery Inquiry: After connecting to the phone via Bluetooth, the power icon can be seen on the phone's status bar.

Mesh Intercom

Mesh intercom is a multi-hop technology mesh network intercom operating at a communication frequency of 470-488MHz. It allows for unrestricted movement within the effective range and offers superior performance and longer transmission distance compared to traditional Bluetooth chain intercoms.

Features: Intercom with up to 6 people, 5 channels in total. In campaign mode as a listener, there is no limit to the number of people who can join the intercom in a listen-only manner. Illustration shows a network of 6 interconnected devices.

When entering the Mesh intercom, Bluetooth music can be played simultaneously. Illustration shows music notes and intercom icons simultaneously active.

Microphone Mute

To mute the microphone during Mesh Intercom, short press the . The sound of your voice will not be sent to others. You will hear the prompt "Microphone Mute". Press the again to unmute, with the prompt "Microphone unmute". Illustration shows a short press on the Intercom Button to mute.

Note: This function is only valid for Mesh intercom.

VOX Voice Sensitivity

The system enters a sleep mode when no speech is detected and activates automatically when speech is detected. Users can adjust the voice activation sensitivity to suit their preferences and avoid false activations or the need for excessively loud sounds. There are 5 sensitivity levels, with level 3 being the default. Level 5 offers the highest sensitivity, while level 1 offers the lowest. For high-speed riding, use a lower level to prevent wind noise from activating the microphone. Speak loudly for activation. At low speeds, a higher level allows whispering to activate the microphone.

To cycle through sensitivity levels, after turning on Mesh intercom, press and hold the + for 1 second. The levels cycle from 1 to 5. You will hear "{VOX n}" where 'n' indicates the sensitivity level (1-5). Illustration shows a 1-second press on the Intercom Button and Volume + button.

Pairing Steps as Members

  1. All devices enter the intercom pairing state by long-pressing the (about 5s) until a prompt is heard and the red and green lights flash alternately. Prompt: "Mesh Pairing". Illustration shows two devices with a 5-second press on the Intercom Button, indicating alternating red and green lights.
  2. Designate one device as the paired server. Press the . You will hear a beep and the red and green lights will flash alternately. Prompt: "Bi". Illustration shows a device labeled "Paired Server" with a press on the Intercom Button.
  3. Wait for a moment. All devices will announce "Pairing Successful", indicating successful pairing.
  4. After a few moments, all intercoms will announce "Channel n, xxx.x megahertz", allowing communication.

Intercom Reconnection

When powering on the intercom for the next use, short press the . You will hear the prompt "Join the Mesh." After a moment, you will hear "Channel n, xxx.x megahertz", and you can talk to each other. Illustration shows a short press on the Intercom Button for reconnection.

If the device is powered off without turning the intercom off, it will automatically restore upon the next power-on.

Turn off MESH Intercom

Press and hold the (about 1s) to turn off Mesh Intercom. The voice prompt will be "Mesh Close". Illustration shows a 1-second press on the Intercom Button to turn off Mesh Intercom.

Pairing Steps as Listeners

To join an existing Mesh intercom team as a listener:

  1. Take the intercom to be paired, enter listening mode pairing by long-pressing the + (about 5s). Prompt: "Listen Mesh Pairing". The red and green lights will flash alternately. Illustration shows a 5-second press on the Intercom Button and Volume - button.
  2. Take an intercom that has been paired as a server, enter listening mode pairing by pressing and holding the + (about 5s). Prompt: "Listen Mesh Pairing". Illustration shows a "Paired Server" device with a 5-second press on the Intercom Button and Volume - button.
    Note: Unjoined machines can only be joined again through the server.
  3. Short press the . You will hear a beep and the red and green lights will flash alternately. Prompt: "Du". Illustration shows a short press on the Intercom Button.
  4. Wait for "Pairing Successful" from all intercoms. After a few more minutes, you will hear "Channel n, xxx.x MHz", indicating you have joined the intercom network and can communicate.

Intercom Channel Switching

There are 5 channels available. Short press the + or to switch channels forward or backward. It is important that the entire team uses the same channel for communication. If the signal is unstable, switching channels can help. You will hear "Channel n, xxx.x MHz" when switching. How To Pair With The Device

  1. After powering on the device, press and hold + (about 5s) until the red and blue lights flash alternately. The pairing voice prompt is "Intercom Pairing". Wait for connection to other intercoms. Illustration shows a 5-second press on the Phone/Power Button and Volume + button.
  2. The other intercom enters the pairing state using the same operation. After the two intercoms discover each other, one will initiate the pairing connection.

The connection is successful and the intercom begins. Prompt: "Pairing Successful". Illustration shows two connected devices.

Pairing with The Old Models

  1. Simultaneously press and hold + + for approximately 5 seconds to start pairing (red and blue lights flash alternately). Prompt: "Intercom Pairing". Illustration shows a 5-second press on the Phone/Power Button, Volume +, and Intercom Button.
  2. For older models (V6/V4), follow their specific instructions to enter search and wait for successful pairing.

Intercom Connection

Blue light flashes rapidly: "Intercom Connected". Illustration shows a rapidly flashing blue light.

Intercom Disconnection

Press and hold the (about 1s). Prompt: "Intercom Disconnected". Illustration shows a 1-second press on the Intercom Button.

Pairing With Headsets or Other Branded Bluetooth Intercoms Search

Note: Compatibility with all Bluetooth headsets or intercoms on the market is not guaranteed.

  1. Long press + (approx. 5s) until the red and blue lights flash alternately and the prompt "Intercom pairing" is displayed. Illustration shows a 5-second press on the Phone/Power Button and Volume + button, with alternating red and blue lights.
  2. Click again on + . The voice prompts "Intercom Searching". The red and blue lights flash alternately. Illustration shows a press on the Phone/Power Button and Volume + button, with alternating red and blue lights.
  3. The intercom searches for other intercoms in the pairing state and initiates pairing when found.

Successful Pairing: "Pairing Successful".

Firmware Upgrades

Connect the EJEAS Q8 to a computer using a USB data cable. Download and open the "EJEAS Upgrade.exe" software. Click the "Upgrade" button to start the process and wait for completion. Illustration shows the EJEAS Q8 connected to a laptop displaying "EJEAS Upgrade.exe".

Note: Use the standard data cable from EJEAS for charging and upgrading.

Mobile Phone Pairing

The EJEAS Q8 supports connection to mobile phones for playing music, making calls, and activating voice assistants. Up to two mobile phones can be connected simultaneously.

  1. After powering on the device, press and hold (approx. 5s) the until the red and blue lights flash alternately and the voice prompt is "Phone Pairing". Illustration shows a 5-second press on the Phone/Power Button, with alternating red and blue lights.
  2. On your phone, search for the device named "Q8" using Bluetooth and click to connect.

Connection successful: Blue light double flashes slowly: "Pairing Successful, Connected". The current battery level is displayed on the phone's Bluetooth icon (requires HFP connection). Illustration shows a phone displaying "Q8" connected via Bluetooth with a battery icon.

Bluetooth Reconnection With Mobile Phones

After switching on, the device automatically reconnects to the last connected phone via Bluetooth. If there is no connection, click the to reconnect with the last connected Bluetooth device. Illustration shows a press on the Phone/Power Button for reconnection.

Mobile Control

Call Answering

When a call comes in, click the . Illustration shows a press on the Phone/Power Button during an incoming call.

Call Rejection

When a call comes in, press the for about 1s. Illustration shows a 1-second press on the Phone/Power Button to reject a call.

Hang Up

During a call, click the . Illustration shows a click on the Phone/Power Button during a call to hang up.

Call Redial

When standby/playing music, quickly double-click the . Illustration shows a double-click on the Phone/Power Button for redial.

Cancel Redial

During redial, click the . Illustration shows a click on the Phone/Power Button during redial.

Phone Priority

When a call comes in, it will interrupt Bluetooth music, FM radio, and intercom. The system will resume after hanging up.

Voice Assistant

When in standby or playing music, press and hold the to wake up the voice assistant. The function depends on your mobile phone. Illustration shows a press and hold on the Phone/Power Button to activate voice assistant.

Music Control

FM Radio

FM On/Off (76~108MHz)

After turning on the FM radio, it will automatically search for and play the found station. FM can be turned on during intercom, allowing you to listen to the radio while talking.

Turn On/Off: Press and hold + (approx. 1s). Prompt: "FM Radio" to turn on, and "FM Radio Off" to turn off. Illustrations show a 1-second press on Volume + and Volume - buttons for FM radio control.

Switching Channels

Press and hold or for 2 seconds to switch channels. Illustrations show 2-second presses on Volume + and Volume - buttons for channel switching.

Volume Adjustment

When using FM alone: Adjust volume using . Illustrations show presses on Volume - and Volume + buttons for volume adjustment.

When FM + Intercom: Adjust volume using . Illustrations show presses on Volume - and Volume + buttons for volume adjustment during intercom.

Music Share

Share music played by Bluetooth on your phone to another device. This function cannot be used during Bluetooth intercom or when two phones are connected simultaneously.

  1. Take one intercom as the host and connect it to the phone. The other intercom acts as the slave. Illustration shows one device connected to a phone and another device paired with it.
  2. Press the + simultaneously on both the host and slave intercoms to enter the music sharing search connection state. Prompt: "Music Share". Illustration shows simultaneous presses on the Phone/Power Button and Volume - button on both devices.
  3. After successful connection, play music from the host's phone, and it can also be played from the slave's speaker. Prompt: "Music Share Connected".
  4. Press the + again to exit music sharing. Prompt: "Music Share Disconnected". Illustration shows simultaneous presses on the Phone/Power Button and Volume - button to exit music sharing.

EUC Pairing

  1. Press and hold the + for about 5s to enter the pairing mode. The voice prompts "Remote Control Pairing", the red and blue lights flash alternately.   3. Click any button of the EUC.

EUC Handle Operation

Mesh intercom reconnect/disconnect and mobile phone control are the same as on the main unit.
