Setup
1. Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment, typically on the inside of the safe's lid or rear panel.
- Insert one 9V-6F22 alkaline battery, ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely. The safe will emit a beep indicating power is on.
2. Initial Unlock
Upon first use, the safe has no pre-registered fingerprints. You must use the backup key or the default PIN to open it.
- Using Manual Key: Insert one of the provided manual keys into the keyhole on the front of the safe and turn it to unlock. The lid will automatically open.
- Using Default PIN: The default PIN is typically '1234'. Enter '1234' on the keypad, then press the 'SET' button (or equivalent confirmation button). The lid will open.
3. Mounting the Safe
The awesafe GF04U is designed for secure mounting to a wall, desk, or other sturdy surface. Choose a location that is discreet, easily accessible to authorized users, and provides a solid mounting point.
- Select a suitable mounting location. Consider the safe's dimensions (3.5"D x 7.5"W x 14"H) and ensure there is enough clearance for the lid to open fully.
- Position the mounting bracket against the desired surface and mark the drilling points.
- Drill pilot holes using an appropriate drill bit for your surface material. Insert wall anchors if necessary.
- Secure the mounting bracket to the surface using the provided screws. Ensure it is firmly attached.
- Align the safe with the mounted bracket and slide it into place. Secure the safe to the bracket using the designated screws, usually from inside the safe.

Operating Instructions
1. Setting a New Passcode
- With the safe open, press the 'SET' button (usually located inside the safe or on the control panel). The indicator light will flash.
- Enter your desired 4-8 digit PIN code on the keypad.
- Press the 'SET' button again to confirm. The indicator light will flash and then turn solid, accompanied by a beep, confirming the new PIN.
- Test the new PIN with the safe open before closing it.
2. Registering Fingerprints
The safe can store multiple fingerprints. It is recommended to register multiple fingers from both hands for convenience.
- With the safe open, press and hold the 'SET' button until the indicator light flashes blue.
- Place your finger firmly on the fingerprint sensor. Lift and repeat this process several times (typically 4-5 times) from different angles until the indicator light turns green and a long beep is heard, confirming successful registration.
- Repeat for additional fingerprints.
- Test registered fingerprints with the safe open before closing it.
3. Opening the Safe
- Using Fingerprint: Place a registered finger firmly on the fingerprint sensor. If recognized, the safe will unlock, and the lid will automatically open.
- Using Digital PIN: Enter your registered PIN code on the keypad, then press the 'SET' button. If correct, the safe will unlock, and the lid will automatically open.
- Using Manual Key: Insert the manual key into the keyhole and turn it clockwise. The lid will automatically open.
4. Interior LED Light
The interior LED light activates automatically when the safe lid opens, providing visibility in dark environments. It will turn off automatically after a short period or when the lid is closed.

Maintenance
- Battery Replacement: Replace the 9V battery annually or immediately when the low battery indicator (usually a red light or specific beep pattern) appears. Always use a fresh alkaline battery.
