2. General Safety Instructions

WARNING: Read all safety warnings and instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.

2.1. Work Area Safety

  • Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
  • Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
  • Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.

2.2. Electrical Safety

  • Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
  • Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
  • Use only the charger specified by the manufacturer for the battery pack. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
  • Do not use a battery pack or appliance that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion, or risk of injury.

2.3. Personal Safety

  • Always wear eye protection and hearing protection when operating the lawn mower.
  • Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts.
  • Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.
  • Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to battery pack, picking up or carrying the appliance.

2.4. Lawn Mower Specific Safety

  • Keep hands and feet away from the cutting area.
  • Never operate the mower without the grass bag or discharge chute in place.
  • Thoroughly inspect the area where the equipment is to be used and remove all objects which can be thrown by the machine.
  • Do not operate the mower in wet grass.
  • Always remove the battery pack when cleaning, servicing, or when the mower is unattended.

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your MZK lawn mower. Always remove the battery pack before performing any maintenance or cleaning.

6.1. Cleaning the Mower

  • Clean the grass bag regularly to prevent mold and maintain airflow.

6.2. Blade Care

  • Inspect the cutting blade regularly for sharpness and damage. A dull or damaged blade can lead to poor cutting performance and strain the motor.
  • If the blade is dull, it can be sharpened by a qualified service technician. If it is bent or cracked, it must be replaced.
  • When handling the blade, always wear heavy-duty gloves.

6.3. Battery Care and Storage

  • Store batteries in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
