1. Product Overview

The XTRONS 21.5 Inch Car Overhead Player is a roof-mounted monitor designed for large-space viewing in vehicles such as buses, coaches, and motorhomes. It features a 16:9 Ultra-Thin FHD IPS screen with a 1920x1080 resolution, offering wide viewing angles, exceptional clarity, and vibrant colors. The unit includes built-in stereo speakers and supports various input options including IR, HDMI, USB, SD Card, and AV Input. The screen's viewing angle can be adjusted from 0° to 136° for optimal passenger comfort. It also features wireless screen mirroring and 8-color ambient lighting.

3. Setup and Installation

This section provides general guidance for installing your XTRONS Car Overhead Player. Professional installation is recommended.

3.1 Mounting the Unit

1. Identify a suitable mounting location on the vehicle's roof or underside of a cabinet, ensuring sufficient clearance for the screen to flip down.
2. Detach the mounting plate from the main unit by removing the screws located behind the rubber bungs.
3. Securely fasten the mounting plate to the chosen surface using the provided screws. Ensure the plate is firmly attached to a stable structure.
4. Route necessary cables (power, video inputs) through the mounting surface to the unit's connection points.
5. Attach the main unit to the secured mounting plate.

3.2 Power Connection

Connect the power cable to the vehicle's electrical system. The unit typically requires connections for permanent live (constant power) and ignition live (switched power) to function correctly and retain settings. Consult a professional for proper wiring to avoid electrical damage.

3.3 Video Inputs

Connect your desired video sources using the available ports:

• HDMI Input: Connect external devices like digital TV receivers (e.g., XTRONS Freeview digital TV receiver) using an HDMI cable.
• USB/SD: Insert a USB flash drive or Micro SD/TF card (not included) to play local media files.
• AV Input: Connect to a car head unit or other devices using RCA video cables.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off and Screen Adjustment

The unit can be powered on/off using the remote control or the virtual touch buttons on the unit. The screen can be adjusted to an ideal viewing angle up to 136°.

4.2 Android System and Connectivity

The unit features a built-in Android operating system, allowing access to various apps for entertainment. It includes high-quality Wi-Fi for blazing-fast data speeds, enabling music downloads, video streaming, and app installations. An external 3G/4G dongle can also be connected (optional).

4.3 Media Playback and Screen Mirroring

The unit supports a comprehensive range of video and audio formats (H.265/VP9/H.264/MPEG-4 codecs, MKV, WMV, MPG, MPEG, AVI, MOV, MP4, RM, APE, FLAC, WAV, MP3, WMA, AAC). It plays full HD 1080P videos smoothly. Wireless screen mirroring allows you to cast smartphone content directly to the HD screen.

4.4 Audio Output Options

In addition to the built-in high-power amplified speakers, you can connect IR headphones or an FM receiver for alternative sound output.

4.5 Ambient Illumination

The unit is equipped with 8-color ambient lights, adding elegance and enhancing the viewing experience. It also supports positive and negative door control, allowing the lights to respond to door status.

5. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the screen and exterior. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Temperature: Operate the unit within recommended temperature ranges to ensure longevity.
• Storage: If storing the vehicle for an extended period, ensure the unit is powered off and protected from extreme temperatures.

• No Power: Check all power connections and vehicle fuses. Ensure the unit is receiving both constant and ignition-switched power.
• No Video/Audio: Verify that the correct input source is selected. Check all cable connections (HDMI, USB, AV) for secure fit. Ensure media files are in supported formats.
• Screen Mirroring Issues: Ensure both the overhead player and your smartphone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Check for any app updates for screen mirroring functionality.
• Remote Control Not Responding: Check the remote control batteries. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the unit's IR receiver.
