4. Setup

4.1. Charging the Battery

The PRUNUS J-988 features a built-in 600mAh rechargeable battery. To charge, connect the included USB-C charging cable to the radio's USB-C port and the other end to a compatible USB power source (e.g., computer, wall adapter). The battery indicator on the LCD will show charging status. A full charge provides up to 18 hours of continuous playback at maximum volume.

4.2. Connecting Earphones

Insert the included wired earphones into the 3.5mm headphone jack on the radio. The earphone cable also functions as the AM/FM antenna, which is crucial for optimal reception. Ensure the cable is uncoiled for the best signal quality.

4.3. Inserting a TF Card

To play personal music files, insert a TF (Micro SD) card into the designated slot on the side of the radio. The radio supports MP3 and WAV audio formats. APE and FLAC formats are not supported.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Power On/Off

Press and hold the red power button (O) to turn the radio on or off.

5.2. AM/FM Radio Operation

The radio supports FM frequencies from 87-108 MHz and AM frequencies from 520-1710 kHz.

• Auto Scan & Store Stations: With the radio on, press the SCAN button. The radio will automatically scan for available stations and save them as presets.
• Recall Preset Stations: Use the M+ and M- buttons to navigate through saved preset stations.
• Manual Tuning: Press the MODE button to switch between FM and AM bands. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to manually tune the frequency step by step.
• Preset a Station: Once you have tuned to a desired station, press the OK button to save it. Follow the on-screen prompts to select a preset number.
• Delete a Preset Station: Navigate to the preset you wish to delete using M+ or M-, then press the DEL button.

5.3. TF Card Playback

If a TF card is inserted, the radio will automatically switch to TF card playback mode or you can manually switch using the MODE button. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to skip tracks. The OK button can be used for play/pause.
