2. Safety Instructions

WARNING: Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety goggles, gloves, and hearing protection when operating the chainsaw.

  • Accidental Activation Prevention: The chainsaw is equipped with a safety lock mechanism to prevent unintentional starting. Always engage the safety lock when the tool is not in use.
  • Kickback Protection: The safety baffle helps prevent wood chips and debris from splashing towards the user.

4. Setup

4.1. Battery Charging

Before first use, fully charge both batteries. The charger indicates charging status with a red light and full charge with a green light.

4.2. Chain and Guide Bar Installation/Adjustment

Your chainsaw comes with an 8-inch chain and guide bar pre-installed. A 6-inch chain and guide bar are also included for different tasks. To change or adjust the chain:

  1. Loosen the two nuts on the side cover using the provided screwdriver.
  2. Adjust the chain tension by turning the knob. Turn clockwise to tighten, counter-clockwise to loosen. The chain should be snug but still able to move freely.
  3. Once tension is set, tighten the two nuts securely.

4.3. Oil Filling (Auto Oiler System)

The chainsaw features an auto-lubrication system. Ensure the oil tank is filled before operation.

  1. Pour bar and chain oil (not included) into the oil tank (up to 30ml).
  2. Tighten the oil cap promptly to prevent leakage.
  3. Squeeze the bulb a few times to prime the system.
  4. Start the chainsaw briefly to ensure the oil is evenly lubricating the chain.

4.4. Attaching the Front Handle

For enhanced control and grip, especially during heavier cutting tasks, attach the auxiliary front handle.

  1. Screw the front handle onto the designated mounting point on the chainsaw.
  2. Ensure it is securely fastened before operation.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Powering On/Off

To operate the chainsaw, you must first disengage the safety lock.

  1. Press the safety lock button located near the trigger.
  2. While holding the safety lock, press the switch button (trigger) to start the chainsaw.
  3. Release the switch button to turn off the chainsaw. The safety lock will automatically re-engage.

5.2. Cutting Techniques

The DocSmart Mini Chainsaw is ideal for trimming tree branches, cutting small logs, and general yard maintenance.

  • Branch Trimming: For branches up to 6-8 inches in diameter, position the chainsaw firmly against the branch. Apply steady pressure and allow the saw to do the work.
  • Wood Cutting: For cutting wood, ensure the workpiece is stable. Use a smooth, controlled motion.
  • Brushless Motor: The 1500W brushless motor provides efficient cutting at 26 ft/s, capable of cutting 6-inch branches in approximately 8 seconds.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Chain Sharpening

Regular sharpening ensures optimal cutting performance. Use the included sharpener file to maintain the chain's sharpness.

6.2. Lubrication

Periodically check the oil level in the auto-oiler system and refill as needed to ensure continuous lubrication of the chain during operation. This extends the life of the chain and guide bar.

6.3. Cleaning

After each use, clean the chainsaw thoroughly. Use the provided cleaning brush to remove sawdust, debris, and resin from the chain, guide bar, and motor housing. Ensure the battery is removed before cleaning.
