4.2 Wiring Connections

Connect the provided wiring harnesses to the head unit and your vehicle's corresponding connectors. Ensure all connections are firm.

4.2.1 High-end Car Wiring (Supports original rear camera and SWC)

4.2.2 Low-end Car Wiring (SWC requires manual programming)

Note: This configuration may not support the original rear camera. SWC functionality will require manual programming in the unit's settings.

4.2.3 Harman Kardon Sound System Connection

If your vehicle has a Harman Kardon sound system and you experience no sound or low sound, ensure the AMP wire in the power cable is connected to the AMP wire in the RCA harness. The AMP wire may be pink or blue. Additionally, adjust settings in Car Settings > Factory > SimpleSoft > Subaru > XP01 / XP02, and in the DSP APP, select 'Full Car Mode'. Finally, in Settings > Factory > Audio AMP, set to 50/100.

4.3 Camera Connections

4.3.1 Factory Rear Camera

Connect the factory camera connectors to the designated inputs on the head unit. For low-profile models, no connection to the P5 (10 Pin) is required.

4.3.2 Aftermarket Rear Camera

If using an aftermarket camera, connect the red cable (1) to the backup light's positive (+) terminal and the black cable (2) to ground (GND). Connect the video output to the head unit's reversing video input.

4.4 Reversing Screen Display Note

If your original reversing camera screen was displayed on a small, separate screen, installing this Android unit will not change that functionality. The Android unit cannot alter the definition of the original car's functionality. You will either need to accept this or purchase an aftermarket camera (which is included with this package).

4.5 Frame Compatibility

If your original car radio air conditioning vents are black, you may need a separate black frame as this product has a silver frame. The clips on the back of the frame may be in a different location.

  1. Open the Zlink5 app on the head unit.
  2. Note the Bluetooth name displayed on the Zlink5 screen (e.g., "Car BT").
  3. On your smartphone, enable Bluetooth and pair with the device named "Car BT".
  4. On your smartphone, enable Wi-Fi and connect to the device's Wi-Fi hotspot.
  5. Once successfully connected, CarPlay or Android Auto will launch automatically. You can now use online maps, play music, and access other compatible apps.
