5. Operation

5.1 General Grooming Guidelines

  • Before grooming, ensure your pet's coat is clean, dry, and free of tangles. Brush the coat thoroughly.
  • Familiarize your pet with the sound and feel of the clipper before starting.
  • Always hold the clipper steadily and move it smoothly in the direction of hair growth.
  • Use short, even strokes. Avoid pressing too hard against the skin.
  • Take breaks if your pet becomes anxious.

5.2 Using the 1mm Cutting Head

The 1mm cutting head is ideal for precise trimming in sensitive and hard-to-reach areas without an attachment comb.

  • Head and Face: Carefully trim around the eyes, ears, and muzzle. Use extreme caution to avoid injury.
  • Paws: Trim hair between paw pads to prevent matting and improve traction.
  • Genital Zone: Maintain hygiene by carefully trimming hair in this area.

5.3 Using Attachment Combs

For longer coat lengths or general body trimming, attach one of the four adjustable combs. The combs help to achieve a uniform cut length.

  • Start with a longer comb length if unsure, and gradually switch to shorter combs as needed.
  • Move the clipper against the direction of hair growth for a shorter cut, or with the direction for a longer, blended look.

6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Trixie TR500 pet clipper.

6.1 Cleaning the Blades

  1. After each grooming session, switch off and unplug the clipper.
  2. Remove any attachment comb.
  3. Use the provided cleaning brush to remove loose hair from the blades and the clipper head.
  4. For thorough cleaning, the blade set can be carefully detached (refer to specific instructions if provided in a physical manual for blade removal).

6.2 Oiling the Blades

Regular oiling is crucial for smooth operation and to prevent blade wear and overheating.

  1. After cleaning, apply 1-2 drops of the included clipper oil to the teeth and sides of the blade.
  2. Switch on the clipper for a few seconds to distribute the oil evenly.
  3. Wipe off any excess oil with a soft cloth.
