4.2 Chain and Guide Bar Installation/Replacement

The chainsaw comes with both 6-inch and 8-inch guide bars and chains for different cutting needs. One chain is typically pre-mounted.

  1. Ensure the battery is removed for safety.
  2. Use the provided screwdriver to loosen the cover screws on the chainsaw body.
  3. Remove the cover and the existing guide bar/chain if replacing.
  4. Place the desired guide bar onto the mounting studs.
  5. Carefully loop the chain around the sprocket and guide bar, ensuring the cutting teeth are facing the correct direction (refer to the chain for directional arrows).
  6. Replace the cover and tighten the screws, ensuring the chain tension is appropriate (see Section 5.2 for tensioning).

4.3 Auto-Oiling System Setup

The chainsaw features an automatic oiling system for continuous chain lubrication.

  1. Locate the oil tank cap on the chainsaw body.
  2. Unscrew the cap and fill the 30ml oil tank with appropriate chainsaw bar and chain oil (not included).
  3. Securely replace the cap.
  4. Before each use, press the oil bulb a few times to prime the system and ensure oil reaches the chain.

4.4 Attaching the Detachable Extra Grip / Pole (Optional)

For enhanced control or extended reach (with compatible pole attachment, sold separately for some variants), the chainsaw features a detachable extra grip.

  1. To attach the extra grip, align it with the designated slot on the chainsaw body and push until it locks into place.
  2. If using a pole attachment (for pole saw variants), ensure the chainsaw head is securely fastened to the pole according to the pole attachment's instructions.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Starting and Stopping the Chainsaw

  1. Ensure the battery is fully charged and securely installed.
  2. Engage the safety lock (usually a button or lever that prevents accidental starting).
  3. Press and hold the safety lock, then squeeze the trigger to start the chainsaw.
  4. Release the trigger to stop the chainsaw. Always engage the safety lock when not actively cutting.

5.2 Cutting Techniques

Always ensure the chain is properly tensioned and lubricated before cutting.

  • Handheld Use: For smaller branches and wood, hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands (if using the extra grip) or one hand (if designed for it and comfortable). Position the chainsaw so the chain makes full contact with the material.
  • Pole Saw Use (if applicable): For high branches, extend the pole to the desired length. Maintain a stable stance and keep the chainsaw head clear of your body. Let the weight of the saw do the work; do not force it.
  • Begin cutting with the bottom of the guide bar to avoid kickback.
  • Cut through the material smoothly and steadily.
  • Be aware of falling branches and debris.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Chain Lubrication

The auto-oiling system ensures the chain is lubricated during operation. Regularly check the oil level in the 30ml tank and refill as needed with quality bar and chain oil. Press the oil bulb before and during use to ensure proper flow.

6.2 Chain Tensioning

Proper chain tension is crucial for safe and efficient operation. A loose chain can derail, and an overly tight chain can cause excessive wear and reduce performance.

  1. Ensure the battery is removed.
  2. Loosen the guide bar retaining screws slightly.
  3. Adjust the chain tensioning screw until the chain is snug against the guide bar but can still be pulled freely by hand. There should be no slack on the underside of the guide bar, and the chain should not bind.
  4. Retighten the guide bar retaining screws firmly.

6.3 Cleaning and Storage

  • After each use, remove the battery and clean the chainsaw.
  • Use a brush or compressed air to remove sawdust and debris from the chain, guide bar, and motor vents.
  • Wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals.
  • Apply a light coat of oil to the chain and guide bar to prevent rust during storage.
  • Store the chainsaw in its original suitcase in a dry, secure location, out of reach of children.
