3. Setup and Installation

The WONLINK AX1500 Repeater offers two primary methods for quick and easy setup: via a web browser on your smartphone or using the WPS button.

3.1 Web Browser Setup (Smartphone)

  1. Power On: Plug the repeater into a power outlet near your main router. Wait for the LED indicators to stabilize.
  2. Connect to Repeater WiFi: On your smartphone, go to WiFi settings and connect to the WONLINK_XXXX network (where XXXX is part of the device's MAC address). No password is required initially.
  3. Access Web Interface: Open a web browser (e.g., Chrome, Safari) and enter 192.168.10.1 in the address bar.
  4. Login: Enter the default password, which is typically admin, to access the configuration page.
  5. Select Mode: Choose your desired operating mode (Repeater, AP, Router, Bridge). For extending your existing WiFi, select "Repeater Mode".
  6. Scan and Select Network: The repeater will scan for available WiFi networks. Select your home WiFi network from the list.
  7. Enter Password: Enter the password for your home WiFi network. This password should be identical to your router's WiFi password.
  8. Save and Restart: Save the settings. The repeater will restart automatically.
  9. Reconnect: After the restart, reconnect your devices to the new repeater network (e.g., YourNetwork_EXT or YourNetwork_5G_EXT). The password will be the same as your main router's WiFi password.

This method is suitable if your main router supports WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup).

  1. Power On: Plug the repeater into a power outlet near your main router.
  2. Activate WPS on Router: Press the WPS button on your main router. The WPS LED on your router should start blinking.
  3. Activate WPS on Repeater: Within two minutes, press the WPS button on your WONLINK AX1500 repeater. The WPS LED on the repeater will also start blinking.
  4. Wait for Connection: The devices will automatically connect. This process may take a few moments. Once connected, the WPS LED on both devices should become solid.
  5. Relocate Repeater: You can now unplug the repeater and move it to a desired location within the range of your main router's WiFi signal. Ensure the signal strength is good for optimal performance.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your WONLINK AX1500 Repeater, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No internet access after setup.Incorrect WiFi password entered during setup, or repeater is out of range of the main router.Verify the WiFi password. Relocate the repeater closer to the main router. Re-run the setup process.
Slow internet speed.Poor signal strength between repeater and router, or too many devices connected.Move the repeater to an optimal location (halfway between router and dead zone). Reduce the number of connected devices or consider upgrading your main router.
Cannot access the web management page (192.168.10.1).Not connected to the repeater's default WiFi network, or IP address conflict.Ensure your device is connected to the repeater's default WiFi (WONLINK_XXXX). Try a different browser or clear browser cache. Reset the repeater to factory defaults if necessary.
WPS setup fails.Router does not support WPS, or WPS button pressed too late.Ensure your router supports WPS. Press the WPS buttons on both devices within the specified time frame (usually 2 minutes). Try the web browser setup method instead.
