1. Important Safety Instructions

Please read and save these instructions. When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

1. Read all instructions before operating the toaster.
2. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or toaster in water or other liquid.
4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
5. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Contact customer service for examination, repair, or adjustment.
7. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
8. Do not use outdoors.
9. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
10. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
11. Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off", then remove plug from wall outlet.
12. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
13. Oversized foods, metal foil packages, or utensils must not be inserted into a toaster as they may create a fire or risk of electric shock.
14. A fire may occur if toasters are covered or touching flammable material, including curtains, draperies, walls, and the like, when in operation.
15. Do not attempt to dislodge food when the toaster is plugged in.
16. Do not operate unattended.
17. The crumb tray must be in place during operation.
18. Regularly clean the crumb tray to prevent fire hazards.

3. Setup

1. Unpack: Carefully remove the toaster and all packaging materials.
2. Placement: Place the toaster on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface, away from flammable materials like curtains. Ensure adequate ventilation around the toaster.
3. First Use (Burn-off): Before first use, operate the toaster without bread on the highest browning setting (6) for a few minutes. This will burn off any manufacturing residues and may produce a slight odor or smoke, which is normal. Ensure the area is well-ventilated.
4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a standard 120V AC electrical outlet.

4. Operating Instructions

Basic Toasting:

1. Insert up to two slices of bread into the toasting slots.
2. Select your desired browning level using the browning control dial (1-6). The digital display will show the selected level for 4 seconds, then begin a countdown.
3. Press the lever down until it locks into place. The toasting cycle will begin.
4. Once the cycle is complete, the toast will automatically pop up.

Using Function Buttons:

• CANCEL: Press this button at any time to stop the toasting cycle and pop up the bread.
• REHEAT: This mode warms up previously toasted bread for 30 seconds without further browning. Select your browning level, press the lever, then press the REHEAT button.
• DEFROST: This mode is for toasting frozen bread. It automatically adjusts the toasting time to defrost and toast. Select your browning level, press the lever, then press the DEFROST button.
• BAGEL: This mode toasts the cut side of bagels and warms the outer side. Insert the bagel with the cut side facing inwards. Select your browning level, press the lever, then press the BAGEL button.

Using the Warming Rack:

The integrated warming rack is suitable for warming croissants, pastries, or other items that should not be placed directly in the toasting slots.

1. Gently pull up the warming rack until it locks into position.
2. Place the items to be warmed on the rack.
3. Select a low browning setting (e.g., 1 or 2) and press the lever down.
4. Monitor the items closely to prevent burning.
5. Once warmed, lift the items carefully and push the warming rack back down for storage.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your toaster.

1. Always Unplug: Before cleaning, always unplug the toaster from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely.
2. Clean Exterior: Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads, as they may scratch the surface.
3. Clean Crumb Tray: Pull out the removable crumb tray from the bottom of the toaster. Discard crumbs and wipe the tray clean with a damp cloth. Ensure the tray is completely dry before reinserting it. The crumb tray must be in place during operation.
4. Do Not Immerse: Never immerse the toaster in water or any other liquid.
5. Food Stuck: If food becomes stuck in the toaster, unplug the appliance and allow it to cool. Carefully remove the food with non-metallic tongs. Do not use metal utensils.
