1. Introduction to Your Litter-Robot 4 Bundle

Congratulations on your purchase of the Litter-Robot 4 Supply & Accessory Bundle by Whisker. This comprehensive bundle provides everything you need for a cleaner, odor-free home and a happier cat. The Litter-Robot 4 is an advanced automatic, self-cleaning litter box designed to simplify pet care by automatically sifting waste and reducing odors.

2. Setup and Initial Installation

Follow these steps to set up your Litter-Robot 4 for the first time:

1. Unpack and Place: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Place the Litter-Robot 4 on a firm, level surface. Avoid carpeting or uneven surfaces, as this can affect the accuracy of the weight scale technology. Ensure there is enough space around the unit for proper operation and access.
2. Install Waste Drawer Liner: Open the waste drawer located at the bottom front of the unit. Insert one of the provided waste drawer liners, ensuring it fits snugly. Close the drawer.
3. Add Litter: Fill the globe with clumping cat litter until it reaches the fill line indicated inside the globe. The Litter-Robot 4 is compatible with any clumping litter. Do not overfill.
4. Install OdorTrap Pack and Carbon Filters: Locate the OdorTrap compartment, typically near the waste drawer or at the top of the unit. Insert an OdorTrap pack. Also, ensure the two carbon filters are properly seated in their designated slots, usually at the top of the waste drawer or near the odor control system.
5. Attach Ramp and Mat: Position the Litter-Robot 4 Ramp in front of the unit, aligning it with the entrance. Place the LitterTrap Mat directly in front of the ramp or unit entrance to help reduce litter tracking.
6. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the back of the Litter-Robot 4, then plug the other end into a wall outlet. The unit will perform an initial cycle.
7. Download the Whisker App: For enhanced control and monitoring, download the Whisker app from your smartphone's app store. Follow the in-app instructions to connect your Litter-Robot 4.

3. Operating Your Litter-Robot 4

The Litter-Robot 4 is designed for automatic operation, but understanding its features will optimize your experience.

Automatic Cleaning Cycle

After your cat uses the Litter-Robot, the unit will automatically detect their presence and wait for a preset delay (typically 3, 7, or 15 minutes, adjustable via the app or control panel) before initiating a cleaning cycle. The globe will rotate, sifting the clean litter from the waste, which is then deposited into the waste drawer below. The globe then returns to its home position, leaving a fresh bed of litter for the next use.

Whisker App Control and Monitoring

The Whisker app provides real-time insights and control over your Litter-Robot 4:

• Monitor Waste and Litter Levels: Receive notifications when the waste drawer is full or when litter levels are low.
• Track Activity: View your cat's litter box usage history, including cycle counts.
• Weight Tracking: The integrated weight scale technology can track your cat's weight after each use, providing valuable health insights.

Multi-Cat Households

One Litter-Robot 4 is suitable for up to four cats, eliminating the need for multiple litter boxes. Each cat must weigh at least 3 lbs (1.4 kg) to safely use the Litter-Robot in Automatic Mode.

4. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and odor control for your Litter-Robot 4.

Emptying the Waste Drawer

When the Whisker app notifies you, or you observe the waste drawer is full, simply pull out the drawer, tie off the liner, and dispose of the waste. Replace with a fresh waste drawer liner. Frequency depends on the number of cats and their usage.

Replacing OdorTrap Packs and Carbon Filters

OdorTrap Packs and carbon filters are crucial for odor reduction. Replace OdorTrap packs monthly or as needed. Carbon filters should be replaced every 3-4 months, or when you notice increased odors.

Cleaning the Unit

Periodically, the Litter-Robot 4 globe and base may require cleaning. Use the provided cleaner wipes or a damp cloth with a mild, pet-safe cleaner. Always unplug the unit before cleaning. Do not submerge the unit in water. For a deeper clean, the globe can be removed and rinsed, but ensure it is completely dry before reassembling.

LitterTrap Mat Cleaning

The LitterTrap Mat can be easily cleaned by shaking out trapped litter or rinsing with water. Allow it to dry completely before placing it back.
