Litter-Robot 4 Ramp Installation Guide

This guide provides detailed instructions for installing the ramp for your Litter-Robot 4 automatic litter box.

Important Note Before Starting

Your Litter-Robot 4 was shipped with one of two fence versions. Please identify which version you have to follow the correct installation directions.

Older Fence

Description: A fence with a plastic shield.

If using this version, remove it and follow instructions for the Ramp Hinge. The Litter-Robot 4 Ramp is not compatible with the Litter-Robot 4 older fence.

Newer Fence

Description: A fence without a plastic shield.

If using this version, you can either:

  1. Remove it and follow instructions for the Ramp Hinge.
  2. Keep the fence on and follow instructions for the Ramp Fence Hinge.

Note: There is a rib in the center of the Ramp which aligns with a groove in the middle of each Hinge to ensure the Ramp is centered correctly during installation.

Parts Required

Ramp

Description: A black, multi-tiered ramp with a textured surface.

Ramp Hinge

Description: A curved black plastic piece with a central groove, designed to connect the ramp to the Litter-Robot 4 bezel.

Ramp Fence Hinge

Description: A curved black plastic piece with a central groove and two small protrusions on the back, designed to connect the ramp to the Litter-Robot 4 fence.

Installing the Ramp Hinge and Ramp (No Fence)

This section applies if you are installing the ramp without a fence, or if you have removed your fence.

  1. Remove the fence (if applicable): Pull up on the fence to disengage the snaps. If you do not have a fence, proceed to the next step.

  2. Snap the Ramp Hinge onto the bezel: Press down on the Ramp Hinge at the indicated locations until you hear a click. Ensure both ends of the Hinge are resting tightly against the surface of the bezel.

  3. Orient and snap the Ramp onto the Hinge: Orient the Ramp so it is parallel to the floor, then snap the Ramp onto the Hinge by pressing down.

  4. Rotate the Ramp down: Rotate the Ramp down to the floor. The Ramp is now ready to use!

  5. Reset weight sensors: Press the Reset button (↻) to zero the weight sensors.

Note: If litter collects on the steps of the Ramp, it can be rotated upwards to dump the litter back inside the globe. (Not applicable if a fence is installed.)

Installing the Ramp Fence Hinge and Ramp (With Newer Fence)

This section applies if you are installing the ramp with the newer fence version. If your Litter-Robot 4 already has the fence installed, skip the first three steps.

  1. Hold the fence upright: Hold the fence upright inside the globe.

  2. Tilt the fence: Tilt the top of the fence toward you to align the front of the fence with the bezel.

  3. Snap the fence onto the bezel: Gently press down on the back of the fence to snap it onto the bezel. Make sure the fence is level.

  4. Place the Ramp Fence Hinge: Place the Ramp Fence Hinge over the top of the fence as shown. Adjust its location left-to-right until centered. Press the area behind the two small protrusions to snap it onto the edge of the fence.

    Note: The back of the Ramp Fence Hinge has two small protrusions, one on each side. These are used to secure the Hinge to the edge of the fence.

  5. Align and snap the Ramp: Align the Ramp with the Hinge and press down to snap in place. Rotate the Ramp down to the floor. The Ramp is now ready to use!

  6. Reset weight sensors: Press the Reset button (↻) to zero the weight sensors.
