4. Setup and Installation
Before beginning installation, ensure your system is powered off and disconnected from the power source. Wear an anti-static wrist strap to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage.
4.1 Motherboard Overview

Figure 4: Main components and connectors on the motherboard.
4.2 CPU Installation (AM5 Socket)
- Locate the AM5 CPU socket on the motherboard.
- Open the CPU socket lever and lift the load plate.
- Carefully align the triangular mark on your AMD Ryzen processor with the corresponding mark on the socket.
- Gently place the CPU into the socket without applying force. It should sit flush.
- Close the load plate and secure it by pushing down the lever until it clicks into place.
- Install your CPU cooler according to its manufacturer's instructions.
4.3 RAM Installation (DDR5)
- Locate the four DDR5 DIMM slots. For optimal performance, refer to your motherboard manual for recommended slot population (e.g., A2 and B2 for dual channel).
- Open the clips on both ends of the DIMM slot.
- Align the notch on the DDR5 memory module with the key in the DIMM slot.
- Press down firmly on both ends of the memory module until the clips snap into place.
4.4 M.2 SSD Installation
The motherboard features one M.2 Gen5 slot and one M.2 Gen4 slot, both equipped with EZ M.2 Shield Frozr II heatsinks and EZ M.2 Clips for tool-less installation.

Figure 5: M.2 slots with heatsinks and EZ M.2 Clip mechanism.
- Unscrew and remove the EZ M.2 Shield Frozr II heatsink from the desired M.2 slot.
- Insert your M.2 SSD into the slot at a slight angle.
- Gently push down the M.2 SSD until it is flat. Secure it using the EZ M.2 Clip by rotating it into place, or with a screw if applicable.
- Reattach the EZ M.2 Shield Frozr II heatsink and secure it with the screw.
4.5 Graphics Card Installation (PCIe 5.0 x16)
The primary PCIe 5.0 x16 slot is reinforced with Steel Armor for heavy graphics cards.

Figure 6: Location of PCIe and M.2 slots.
- Open the retention clip at the end of the PCIe 5.0 x16 slot.
- Align your graphics card with the slot and press down firmly until it is fully seated and the retention clip snaps into place.
- Secure the graphics card to your PC case with screws.
4.6 Power Connections
Connect the 24-pin ATX power connector and the 8+4-pin CPU power connector from your power supply to the corresponding ports on the motherboard.
4.7 Front Panel and I/O Connections
Connect your case's front panel headers (power button, reset button, USB ports, audio jacks) to the appropriate pins on the motherboard. Refer to the motherboard manual for exact pin layouts.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
Regularly clean your computer's interior to prevent dust buildup, which can lead to overheating and reduced performance. Use compressed air to remove dust from heatsinks, fans, and other components. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
6.2 BIOS Updates
MSI periodically releases BIOS updates to improve system stability, compatibility, and performance. You can update the BIOS using the M-Flash utility directly from the BIOS or via a USB drive. Always download BIOS updates from the official MSI website and follow the instructions carefully to avoid damaging the motherboard.
7. Troubleshooting
This section provides solutions to common issues you might encounter.
7.1 No Power / No Boot
- Ensure all power cables (24-pin ATX, 8+4-pin CPU, GPU PCIe power) are securely connected.
- Check if the power supply switch is in the ON position.
- Verify that the front panel power button cable is correctly connected to the motherboard.
- Test with a different power supply if possible.
7.2 No Display Output
- Ensure your monitor is connected to the graphics card (if discrete) or the motherboard's display output (if using integrated graphics).
- Verify that the graphics card is properly seated in its PCIe slot and has adequate power.
- Reseat RAM modules. Incorrectly seated RAM is a common cause of no display.
- Clear CMOS: Locate the JBAT1 jumper on the motherboard (refer to the full manual) and short it for 5-10 seconds with the system powered off and unplugged. Alternatively, remove the CMOS battery for 1-2 minutes.
7.3 System Instability / Crashes
- Check CPU and GPU temperatures. Ensure cooling solutions are properly installed and functioning.
- Verify RAM stability. Run memory diagnostic tools.
- Ensure all drivers are up to date.
- If overclocking, revert to default settings to check for stability.
