Setup and Installation

Before installing the memory module, ensure your computer is powered off and unplugged from the wall outlet. It is recommended to wear an anti-static wrist strap to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage to components.

  1. Prepare Your System: Power down your computer completely and disconnect the power cable. Open the computer case to access the motherboard.
  2. Locate DIMM Slots: Identify the DDR5 DIMM slots on your motherboard. Consult your motherboard's manual for the correct slot configuration for single or dual-channel memory.
  3. Open Retention Clips: Gently push the retention clips at both ends of the DIMM slot outwards to open them.
  4. Align Memory Module: Hold the memory module by its edges, avoiding contact with the gold connectors. Align the notch on the memory module with the key in the DIMM slot. DDR5 modules have a specific notch placement to prevent incorrect insertion.
  5. Insert Memory Module: Apply even pressure to both ends of the memory module until it seats firmly into the slot and the retention clips snap into place. If the clips do not close automatically, gently push them inwards.
  6. Secure and Power On: Close your computer case, reconnect the power cable, and power on your system. The system should automatically detect the new memory.

Note: For optimal performance, ensure your motherboard BIOS is updated to the latest version and that XMP (Intel) or EXPO (AMD) profiles are enabled in the BIOS settings after installation. Refer to your motherboard manual for specific instructions on BIOS configuration.
