4. Setup
4.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage if needed.
4.2 Battery Installation
The clock requires batteries for operation. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the clock.

- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert the required batteries (typically AA, refer to compartment markings for type and polarity) ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
4.3 Pendulum Attachment
Attach the oscillating pendulum to the designated hook or slot at the bottom of the clock unit. Ensure it hangs freely and can swing without obstruction.

4.4 Mounting the Clock
The clock is designed for wall mounting. Use a suitable screw or hook (not included) in a sturdy wall location. The clock features a hanging slot on its rear for secure placement.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Setting the Time
To set the time, gently turn the minute hand (the longer hand) clockwise until the desired time is displayed. Avoid turning the hour hand directly.

5.2 Cuckoo Function
The Grato Cuckoo Clock features an hourly cuckoo chime. Please note that the bird inside the clock does not physically emerge; the sound is emitted from within the clock. The volume of the cuckoo sound is adjustable.
- Volume Adjustment: Locate the volume control dial or button on the back of the clock (refer to Figure 1). Adjust it to your preferred sound level.
- Night Mode: Some models may include a light sensor or a manual switch to silence the cuckoo during nighttime hours. Consult the markings on the back of your specific clock for this feature.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
To clean the clock, gently wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical sprays, as these can damage the finish.
6.2 Battery Replacement

- Replace with fresh batteries.
- Ensure the pendulum is attached and swinging freely.

- Ensure the volume control is not set to minimum or off.
- Verify if a night mode sensor or switch is active, silencing the cuckoo.
- Incorrect time:
- Reset the time as per Section 5.1.
- Ensure the clock is mounted securely and not subject to vibrations that could affect the movement.
