Setup
- Assemble the Drum Rack: Follow the diagrams provided in the separate assembly guide to construct the main drum rack frame. Ensure all clamps are securely tightened.
- Mount the Pads:
- Attach the 12" snare pad to the designated snare arm.
- Mount the three 10" tom pads to their respective arms on the rack.
- Position the 7.5" kick tower on the floor in front of the rack.
- Attach the two 13" crash cymbal pads to the cymbal stands.
- Connect the Pedals: Connect the kick pedal to the kick tower and the hi-hat pedal to its stand.
- Mount the DTX-PRO Module: Secure the DTX-PRO module to the module stand on the drum rack.
- Cable Connections: Connect each pad and cymbal to the corresponding input on the DTX-PRO module using the provided cables. Refer to the module's port labels for correct connections.
- Power Connection: Connect the AC adapter to the DTX-PRO module's power input and then to a power outlet.
Important: Ensure all connections are firm before powering on the module. Avoid excessive force when tightening clamps or connecting cables.
Operating Instructions
Powering On/Off
- To Power On: Press the [POWER] button on the DTX-PRO module.
- To Power Off: Press and hold the [POWER] button until the display shuts down.
Basic Operation
- Kit Selection: Use the [KIT] knob or [UP]/[DOWN] buttons to navigate through the 70 preset drum kits.
- Volume Adjustment: Use the main [VOLUME] knob to adjust the overall output level. Individual pad volumes can be adjusted within the kit settings.
- Kit Modifier: The DTX-PRO module features a Kit Modifier section. Use the dedicated knobs to adjust ambience, compression, and special effects for the selected kit.
- Custom Kits: Create and save up to 200 custom kits using the 700+ sampled voices. Refer to the DTX-PRO module's detailed manual for advanced kit creation.
- Training Functions: Access various training tools, including metronome, rhythm gate, and groove check, through the module's menu.
- Recording: The module includes a recording function to capture your performances.
Connecting to External Devices
- USB Connectivity: Connect the DTX-PRO module to a computer via USB for MIDI data transfer and audio recording.
- Audio Output: Use the main stereo outputs to connect to an amplifier, mixer, or headphones.
- Auxiliary Input: Connect an external audio player to the AUX IN jack to play along with your favorite music.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the surfaces of the pads, module, and rack with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Pad Care: The mesh heads are tunable. Periodically check the tension and adjust if necessary using a drum key (not included) to maintain optimal feel and response. Avoid striking the pads with excessive force.
- Cable Management: Ensure cables are not kinked or tangled. Secure them to the drum rack using cable ties to prevent damage and tripping hazards.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the drum set in a clean, dry environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
