3.2 Pre-Installation Steps
- Disconnect Battery: Before starting any electrical work, disconnect the negative terminal of your vehicle's battery to prevent electrical shorts.
- Remove Factory Radio: Carefully remove the trim panels and screws securing your existing car radio. Refer to your vehicle's service manual for specific instructions.
3.3 Wiring Connections
Connect the provided wiring harness to the corresponding ports on the Leadfan stereo unit and your vehicle's factory wiring. Ensure all connections are secure.
- Power Cable: Connect the main power harness.
- RCA Cable: For external audio/video connections.
- USB Cables: Connect for USB devices and wired CarPlay/Android Auto.
- Reverse Input Cable: Connect for backup camera functionality.
- GPS Antenna: Mount the GPS antenna in a location with a clear view of the sky (e.g., dashboard, under the windshield) for optimal signal reception.
- Radio Antenna: Connect the vehicle's radio antenna.
- External Microphone: Plug the external microphone into its dedicated jack on the RCA cable for improved call quality.
3.3.1 Testing the Unit (Bench Test)
To test the unit before full installation, combine the red and yellow wires of the power supply and connect them to the positive side of a 12V power source. Connect the black wire to the negative side of the power supply. Ensure the voltage is exactly 12V; exceeding this may damage the radio.
3.4 Backup Camera Installation
The included backup camera requires running a wire from the rear of the vehicle to the stereo unit. The 12V barrel connector and RCA plug on the camera wire are not detachable, which may necessitate drilling a sufficiently large hole for cable routing. Connect the camera's video output to the 'Reverse Input' on the stereo unit and its power to the vehicle's reverse light circuit.

6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your Leadfan car stereo.
6.1 Power Issues
- Unit does not power on: Check all power connections, including the vehicle's fuse box. Ensure the red and yellow power wires are correctly connected to a 12V power source.
- Unit powers on but shuts off: Verify stable 12V power supply. Check for loose connections.
6.2 Connectivity Issues
- Bluetooth connection problems: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on both the stereo and your phone. Delete previous pairings and attempt to re-pair. Check for interference from other devices.
- Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto not connecting: Ensure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are active on your phone. For Android Auto, ensure USB debugging is off if connecting wirelessly. Try connecting via USB first to establish initial connection.
- GPS signal weak or inaccurate: Ensure the GPS antenna is mounted in a location with a clear view of the sky and is securely connected.
- Wi-Fi connection unstable: Ensure the Wi-Fi antenna is properly connected.
6.3 Audio and Display Issues
- No sound: Check speaker wiring connections. Ensure volume is not muted or set too low. Verify the correct audio source is selected.
- FM Radio and Android Auto audio overlap: This can occur for approximately 5 seconds when switching between FM Radio and Android Auto media. This is a known characteristic and typically resolves itself.
- Backup camera not displaying: Check the reverse input cable connection and the camera's power supply. Ensure the camera is functioning correctly.
6.4 General Performance
- Slow response or lag: Close unnecessary background applications. Restart the unit if performance degrades significantly.
- Unit freezes: Perform a soft reset by pressing the reset button (if available) or by disconnecting and reconnecting the vehicle's battery (negative terminal first).
7. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Leadfan car stereo, follow these general maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the screen and exterior. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Software Updates: Periodically check the manufacturer's website or the unit's settings for available software updates to improve performance and add new features.
- Environmental Conditions: Avoid exposing the unit to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight for prolonged periods, or excessive moisture.
