3. Setup and Fitting

3.1. Initial Inspection

Before first use, carefully inspect the helmet for any signs of damage from shipping. Do not use the helmet if any cracks, dents, or other visible damage are present.

3.2. Sizing and Fit

The helmet should fit snugly and comfortably on your head. It should not move excessively when you shake your head. Refer to the size chart to ensure you have the correct helmet size for your head circumference.

3.3. Adjusting the 360° Fit System

The Omne Air MIPS helmet features an integrated 360° fit system for a personalized and secure fit. Locate the adjustment dial at the back of the helmet.

1. Place the helmet on your head.
2. Turn the dial clockwise to tighten the fit system, and counter-clockwise to loosen it.
3. Adjust until the helmet feels snug all around your head without causing pressure points.

3.4. Adjusting the Chin Straps

The chin straps are crucial for keeping the helmet securely in place.

1. Fasten the buckle securely under your chin.
2. Adjust the strap length so that it is snug but not uncomfortably tight. You should be able to fit one or two fingers between the strap and your chin.
3. Ensure the strap dividers (tri-glides) are positioned just below your ears, forming a 'V' shape.
4. Once adjusted, ensure the excess strap is secured to prevent flapping.

4. Operating and Usage

4.1. Wearing the Helmet Correctly

For maximum protection, the helmet must be worn correctly:

• The helmet should sit level on your head, covering your forehead. It should not be tilted back, exposing your forehead.
• The front rim of the helmet should be approximately two fingers' width above your eyebrows.
• Ensure all straps are properly adjusted and the buckle is fastened before riding.

4.2. MIPS Air Node Technology

The MIPS Air Node system is an integrated, low-friction layer designed to reduce rotational motion transferred to the brain from angled impacts. This technology allows a relative motion between the helmet and the head in the event of an angled impact, which can reduce the severity of the impact.

The MIPS layer is integrated into the helmet's padding and is designed to move slightly upon impact. This movement is normal and part of the helmet's safety design.

5. Maintenance

5.1. Cleaning the Helmet

To clean your helmet, use only a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the helmet's materials and compromise its protective properties.

• Remove any removable padding for separate cleaning if applicable.
• Wipe the exterior and interior surfaces gently.
• Allow the helmet to air dry completely before storage or next use.

5.2. Storage

Store your helmet in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid storing it near heat sources or in areas where it might be exposed to chemicals or petroleum products, which can degrade the helmet's materials.

5.3. Regular Inspection

Regularly inspect your helmet for any signs of wear or damage. Check the shell for cracks, the EPS liner for compression or damage, and the straps and buckle for fraying or malfunction. If the helmet has sustained an impact, even if no visible damage is apparent, it should be replaced immediately as its protective capabilities may be compromised.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1. Helmet Feels Loose or Too Tight

Adjust the 360° fit system dial at the back of the helmet. Turn clockwise to tighten, counter-clockwise to loosen. Ensure the chin straps are also adjusted correctly for a snug fit.

6.2. Chin Strap Discomfort

Ensure the strap dividers (tri-glides) are positioned just below your ears. Adjust the strap length so it is snug but not digging into your chin. If discomfort persists, re-evaluate the helmet size.

6.3. Helmet Does Not Sit Level

Re-adjust the 360° fit system and chin straps. The helmet should sit level on your head, covering your forehead, with the front rim about two fingers' width above your eyebrows.

6.4. Visible Damage After Impact

If your helmet has been involved in an impact, even if there is no visible damage, it is crucial to replace it immediately. The internal structure designed to absorb impact may be compromised, reducing its effectiveness in future incidents.
