4. Assembly Instructions
The HOLMES 18" Oscillating Stand Fan requires minor assembly. Follow these steps:
- Attach the Base: Place the adjustable height pole onto the base. Secure it using the provided screws and washers from underneath the base. Ensure it is firmly tightened.
- Mount the Fan Head: Carefully align the fan head assembly with the top of the adjustable height pole. Push down and twist gently until it locks into place. Some models may require a screw to secure the fan head to the pole.
- Secure the Grills: Ensure the front and rear grills are properly aligned and secured around the fan blades. Fasten any clips or screws provided to hold the grills together securely.

5.1 Power and Speed Settings
The fan features a push-button control panel located on the fan pole.
- OFF: Press the 'OFF' button to turn the fan off.
- Speed 1 (Low): Press '1' for a gentle breeze.
- Speed 2 (Medium): Press '2' for moderate airflow.
- Speed 3 (High): Press '3' for maximum airflow (up to 18 ft/sec).

5.2 Oscillation Function
To activate the oscillation feature, press the oscillation button (usually located on the top or rear of the motor housing). The fan head will sweep from side to side, providing wide-area cooling (approximately 75° oscillation).

5.3 Adjustable Height and Tilt
- Height Adjustment: Loosen the height adjustment collar on the pole, adjust the pole to your desired height (between 39" and 49"), and then securely tighten the collar.
- Head Tilt: The fan head can be tilted up or down by approximately 25°. Gently push or pull the fan head to adjust the angle of airflow.

6. Maintenance
