Model: MWA-300H-1AV

Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper use and maintenance of your Casio MWA-300H Series MWA300H-1AV watch. Please read this manual thoroughly to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your timepiece.

The Casio MWA-300H-1AV is a durable analog watch featuring a chronograph, 100-meter water resistance, and a clear, easy-to-read display with luminous hands.

Setup

Initial Time Setting

  1. Pull out the crown: Gently pull the crown (the knob on the side of the watch) out to the first click position.
  2. Set the time: Rotate the crown to move the hour and minute hands to the desired time. Ensure AM/PM is correctly set if your watch has a 24-hour indicator or date changes at midnight.
  3. Push in the crown: Once the time is set, push the crown back in to the normal position. The second hand will begin to move.

Date Setting

The watch features a date window at the 3 o'clock position.

  1. Pull out the crown: Gently pull the crown out to the first click position.
  2. Adjust the date: Rotate the crown in the opposite direction from time setting to change the date. Avoid setting the date between 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM, as this may interfere with the automatic date change mechanism.
  3. Push in the crown: Push the crown back in to the normal position.

Operating the Watch

Timekeeping

The watch displays hours, minutes, and seconds using analog hands. The quartz movement ensures accurate timekeeping with a precision of approximately ±20 seconds per month.

Stopwatch Function

The Casio MWA-300H-1AV includes a 1/10-second stopwatch for precise timing. This function is controlled by the two push-buttons located on either side of the crown.

  • Starting the Stopwatch: Press the upper right button to start timing.
  • Stopping the Stopwatch: Press the upper right button again to stop timing.
  • Resetting the Stopwatch: While the stopwatch is stopped, press the lower right button to reset it to zero.
  • Split Time: Press the lower right button while the stopwatch is running to record a split time. Press it again to return to the current elapsed time.

The three sub-dials on the watch face indicate stopwatch minutes, seconds, and 1/10 seconds.

Water Resistance (100M)

This watch is rated for 100-meter (330 feet) water resistance. This means it is suitable for swimming, showering, and recreational water activities. It is not suitable for scuba diving or high-impact water sports.

  • Ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water.
  • Do not operate the crown or push-buttons while the watch is wet or submerged.
  • After exposure to saltwater, rinse the watch with fresh water and wipe it dry.

Luminous Display

The hour and minute hands, along with certain markers, are treated with a luminous material that absorbs light and glows in the dark, providing readability in low-light conditions.

Maintenance

Cleaning

  • Wipe the watch case and band with a soft, dry cloth regularly to remove dirt and moisture.
  • For resin bands, a mild soap solution and a soft brush can be used, followed by thorough rinsing and drying.
  • Avoid using chemical cleaners, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the watch's finish.

Battery Replacement

The watch is powered by one SR920SW battery, which has an approximate lifespan of 3 years. When the watch stops or the second hand moves erratically, it indicates a low battery. Battery replacement should be performed by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and water resistance.

Water Resistance Precautions

  • Have the water resistance gaskets checked and replaced every 2-3 years, especially if the watch is frequently exposed to water.
  • Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperature changes, which can affect the water resistance seals.

Troubleshooting

  • Watch is not running: Check if the crown is fully pushed in. If it is, the battery may need replacement.
  • Time is inaccurate: Ensure the crown is fully pushed in. If the time continues to be inaccurate, the watch may require servicing.
  • Date does not change: Manually advance the date to ensure it is not stuck. If the issue persists, consult a service center.
  • Fogging inside the crystal: This may indicate a loss of water resistance. Avoid further water exposure and have the watch inspected by a technician immediately.
