5. Operating Instructions
The Tendak 4K HDMI Switch Box offers three methods for switching between input sources:
5.1. Automatic Switching
The switch box can automatically detect and switch to an active HDMI input source when a new device is powered on or an active device is connected. If multiple devices are active, it will typically switch to the most recently activated one.
5.2. Manual Button Switching
Press the 'Switch' button on the front panel of the device to cycle through the HDMI input sources (Input 1, 2, 3, 4). The corresponding LED indicator will light up to show the currently active port.
5.3. IR Remote Control Switching
Use the included IR remote control for convenient switching from a distance. Ensure there are no obstacles between the remote and the IR receiver on the switch box.
- Press the 'IN1', 'IN2', 'IN3', or 'IN4' buttons on the remote to directly select the desired HDMI input.
- The remote also includes buttons for PIP functions (PIP, DEL, CHR) which are detailed in the next section.

6. Picture-in-Picture (PIP) Function
The PIP function allows you to view one main signal source and three sub-screen presentations simultaneously on your display. This is useful for monitoring multiple inputs at once.
- Activating PIP: Press the 'PIP' button on the remote control to activate the Picture-in-Picture mode.
- Switching Main/Sub-screens: Use the 'CHR' button on the remote to cycle the main screen with one of the sub-screens.
- Exiting PIP: Press the 'DEL' button on the remote to exit PIP mode and return to full-screen view of the main input.
Important Notes for PIP Mode:
- Audio will only be played from the full-screened source.
- If your TV/display resolution is over 1080p, the three sub-screens may appear smaller within the display. For optimal viewing, 1080p resolution is recommended for PIP mode.

If you encounter issues with your Tendak 4K HDMI Switch Box, please refer to the following troubleshooting steps:
- No Signal:
- Check all power connections to the switch box and connected devices.
- Ensure all HDMI cables are securely connected to both the switch box and your input/output devices.
- Test each input source directly with your display to confirm they are working correctly.
- Input Signal Cannot Switch:
- Try using the front panel 'Switch' button to change inputs.
- If using the remote control, ensure there are no obstacles between the remote and the device's IR receiver. Operate the remote at a closer range.
- Check the remote control battery and replace if necessary (CR2032 battery, not included).
- No Sound / Audio Anomaly:
- Set your display's audio output to HDMI.
- Ensure your HDMI cables are of good quality and support audio transmission. Consider upgrading your HDMI cables if issues persist.
