Thank you for choosing the ROCAM Indoor Security Camera. This device is designed to provide reliable home surveillance with features such as 360° pan/tilt, 2-way audio, and night vision. This manual will guide you through the installation, setup, and operation of your camera.
2. Package Contents

4. Setup Guide
4.1. Physical Installation
- Choose a Location: Select an indoor location with a stable 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal. The camera can be placed on a flat surface or mounted to a ceiling.
- Power On: Connect the power adapter to the camera's DC 5V port and plug it into a power outlet. The camera will power on and initiate its self-test.
- Indicator Light: Wait for the indicator light to flash red, indicating it's ready for connection.
4.2. App Installation and Account Creation
- Download the App: Search for the "ROCAM" app in your smartphone's app store (iOS App Store or Google Play Store) and download it.
- Register Account: Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to register a new account using your email address or phone number.
4.3. Camera Connection
- Add Device: In the ROCAM app, tap the "+" icon to add a new device. Select "Smart Camera" or the appropriate camera type.
- Wi-Fi Configuration: Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Enter your Wi-Fi password when prompted. Note: 5GHz Wi-Fi networks are not supported.
- Scan QR Code: The app will generate a QR code. Hold your phone approximately 15-20 cm (6-8 inches) in front of the camera lens until you hear a prompt sound from the camera, indicating successful scanning.
- Connection Complete: Once connected, the camera's indicator light will turn solid blue. You can now name your camera and begin using it.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Live View
Open the ROCAM app and tap on your camera's name to access the live video feed. You can view real-time footage from your camera.
5.2. Pan, Tilt, and Digital Zoom
On the live view screen, swipe your finger across the video feed to remotely control the camera's pan (horizontal) and tilt (vertical) movements. Pinch to zoom in or out digitally.
- Pan Range: 320° horizontal rotation.
- Tilt Range: 80° vertical rotation.
- Digital Zoom: 4X digital zoom.
5.3. Two-Way Audio
Tap the microphone icon in the app to speak through the camera's speaker. Tap the speaker icon to listen to audio from the camera's surroundings.
5.4. Motion Detection and Alerts
Enable motion detection in the camera settings within the app. When motion is detected, the camera will record a short video clip and send an alert notification to your smartphone.
5.5. Night Vision
The camera automatically switches to night vision mode in low-light conditions, providing clear black and white video up to 30 feet using its integrated IR system.
5.6. Video Recording and Storage
The camera supports two recording methods:
- MicroSD Card Storage: Insert a MicroSD card (up to 128GB, not included) into the camera's slot for local storage of recordings. Ensure the camera is powered off before inserting or removing the card.
- Cloud Storage: Subscribe to the optional cloud storage service through the ROCAM app for secure, off-site video storage.
6. Maintenance
6.1. Cleaning
Gently wipe the camera lens and body with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
6.2. Firmware Updates
Periodically check the ROCAM app for available firmware updates. Keeping your camera's firmware up-to-date ensures optimal performance and security features.
6.3. Storage Management
If using a MicroSD card, regularly review and manage recorded footage. Old recordings may be overwritten automatically when the card is full, depending on your settings.
7. Troubleshooting
- Camera not connecting to Wi-Fi:
- Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. 5GHz is not supported.
- Check Wi-Fi password for correctness.
- Move the camera closer to your Wi-Fi router.
- Reset the camera by pressing the reset button for 5 seconds until you hear a prompt.
- No live video feed:
- Verify the camera is powered on and connected to Wi-Fi (solid blue indicator light).
- Check your internet connection.
- Restart the ROCAM app.
- Motion alerts not received:
- Ensure motion detection is enabled in the app settings.
- Check your phone's notification settings for the ROCAM app.
- Adjust motion sensitivity if necessary.
