3.2 SIM Card Insertion

3.3 Powering On

Connect the router to the included Power over Ethernet (PoE) adapter using an Ethernet cable. Then, plug the PoE adapter into a power outlet. The device will power on automatically.

3.4 Initial Configuration

1. Download the Zyxel Air App: Search for 'Zyxel Air' in your device's app store and install it.
2. Scan the QR Code: Use the Zyxel Air app to scan the QR code located on your router or its packaging. This will initiate the connection process.

5. Connect to Home Network: Once configured, connect the router's LAN port to your existing residential gateway or router for internet distribution within your home network.

4. Operating the Router

4.1 Connecting Devices

After initial setup, your Zyxel 5G NR Outdoor Router will provide internet access to your residential gateway. Devices connected to your residential gateway (via Wi-Fi or Ethernet) will then have internet access through the 5G router.

4.2 Advanced Settings (IP Passthrough)

For advanced network configurations, such as passing the public IP address directly to another device (e.g., a personal router), you can enable IP Passthrough mode. This bypasses the router's NAT layer.

To enable IP Passthrough:

• Access the router's web interface or Zyxel Air app.
• Navigate to Networking settings > Broadband > Cellular APN.
• Set IP Passthrough = ON.
• Set Passthrough Mode = Dynamic.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

• Slow Speeds:
  • Ensure the router is installed in an optimal location for signal reception.
  • Check for network congestion in your area.
  • Verify your mobile data plan supports the expected speeds.
• Cannot Access Web Interface/App:
  • Ensure your device is connected to the router's network (or your home network if the router is connected to it).
  • If using the temporary Wi-Fi, ensure it's still active (reboot if necessary).
