2. Safety Information
Always observe the following safety precautions when using the AUTOOL BT960 Battery System Tester:
- Wear appropriate eye protection and protective clothing.

4. Setup
Before first use, ensure the device is powered and ready for operation.
4.1 Powering the Device
The BT960 offers three power options:
- Battery Connection: Connect the tester clamps to a 12V or 24V battery. The device will draw power directly from the battery.
- AAA Batteries: Insert 4 AAA batteries into the battery compartment (H in Figure 3.1).
- Type-C Power Interface: Connect a 5V/1A Type-C power adapter to the device.
4.2 Initial Connection
- Ensure the vehicle ignition is off and all accessories are disconnected.
- Connect the red clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the battery.
- Connect the black clamp to the negative (-) terminal of the battery.
- The device will power on automatically if connected to a battery, or manually if using AAA batteries or Type-C power.

5.1 Battery Type Selection
The BT960 supports both lead-acid and lithium batteries. Navigate to the main menu and select the appropriate battery type before proceeding with tests.

Supported lead-acid battery types include: Regular Flooded, GEL, AGM Flat Plate, AGM Spiral, and EFB. Lithium battery types include: LiFePO4, LiPoPolymer, and Ternary Lithium-ion.
5.2 Voltage Testing
The device can measure voltage within a 0-80V range, suitable for most 12V and 24V vehicle batteries.

5.3 Cranking Test
This test evaluates the battery's ability to provide sufficient current to start the engine. Follow on-screen prompts to perform the test.
5.4 Charging Test
The charging test assesses the vehicle's charging system (alternator, regulator) to ensure it is properly recharging the battery.
5.5 Load Test
The load test simulates real-world conditions to determine the battery's performance under a sustained discharge.
5.6 Battery Leakage Monitoring
The BT960 can detect even slight current leakage, which helps identify potential issues that could drain the battery over time.

5.7 Data Printing Function

5.8 Reviewing Historical Data
The BT960 stores historical test records. Navigate to the 'Review' option in the main menu to access and view past test results.
6. Maintenance
