Setup and Installation

Assembly is required. The two posts can be easily fixed to the wall and ground using the included mounting accessories to ensure stability and security.

  1. Choose Location: Select a suitable, stable wall surface for the main blind unit and a corresponding ground location for the receiving post. Ensure the area is clear of obstructions and provides the desired coverage.
  2. Mount Main Blind Post: Securely attach the main blind unit's housing to the chosen wall using the provided wall brackets and screws. Ensure it is level and firmly anchored.
  3. Top mounting bracket for the main blind post

  4. Mount Receiving Post: Position the receiving post on the ground at the maximum desired extension point of the blind. Mark the drilling points and securely fasten the receiving post to the ground using the appropriate hardware.
  5. Check Stability: After installation, gently test the stability of both posts to ensure they are securely mounted and can withstand the tension of the extended blind.

Operating Instructions

The sun blind features a practical retractable design, allowing it to automatically roll up when the handle is released from the receiving post.

  1. Extend the Blind: Grasp the handle attached to the blind fabric. Gently pull the handle horizontally away from the main blind unit towards the receiving post.
  2. Diagram showing the extension of the sun blind

  3. Secure the Blind: Once extended to the desired length, hook the handle onto the designated slot or pin on the receiving post. Ensure the handle is securely engaged to keep the blind taut.
  4. Retracted side sun blind

  5. Retract the Blind: To retract, unhook the handle from the receiving post. Guide the handle gently back towards the main blind unit. The blind will automatically roll back into its housing. Do not release the handle abruptly; allow it to retract smoothly.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: The fabric is water-resistant. Clean the fabric with a soft cloth, mild soap, and lukewarm water. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before retracting. Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or stiff brushes, as these can damage the fabric's polyurethane coating.
  • Frame Care: Wipe the steel and aluminum frame components with a damp cloth to remove dust and dirt.
  • Seasonal Storage: During periods of strong winds, heavy rain, snow, or when not in use for extended periods, it is recommended to retract the blind to protect it from damage and prolong its lifespan.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all mounting hardware for tightness. Tighten any loose screws to maintain stability.

Troubleshooting

  • Blind does not extend or retract smoothly:
    • Check for any obstructions in the path of the blind or within the retraction mechanism.
    • Ensure the fabric is not twisted or caught.
    • Verify that the main blind unit is level and securely mounted.
  • Blind sags or is not taut when extended:
    • Ensure the handle is fully engaged with the receiving post.
    • Check if the receiving post is securely anchored and has not shifted.
  • Mounting posts feel unstable:
    • Re-tighten all mounting screws for both the main blind unit and the receiving post.
    • Ensure the mounting surface (wall/ground) is structurally sound.
