3. Product Overview
3.1 Front Panel

4. Setup
4.1 Initial Placement
Place the MCD1.3 on a stable, level surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive dust or moisture. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
4.2 Power Connection
- Connect the provided power cable to the Power Inlet on the rear panel of the MCD1.3.
- Plug the other end of the power cable into a suitable AC power outlet.
- Ensure the main Power Switch on the rear panel is in the 'ON' position.
4.3 Audio Connections
Choose the appropriate audio output method based on your amplifier or DAC.
- RCA Analog Output: Connect RCA cables from the MCD1.3's RCA outputs to the analog inputs of your amplifier.
- Balanced XLR Output: Connect XLR cables from the MCD1.3's XLR outputs to the balanced inputs of your amplifier.
- Coaxial/Optical Digital Output: Connect a coaxial or optical cable from the MCD1.3 to the corresponding digital input on your external DAC or digital amplifier.
- I²S HDMI Output: For compatible high-end DACs, connect an HDMI cable from the MCD1.3's I²S output to the DAC's I²S input.
- USB-B Input (for PC connection): Connect a USB-B cable from the MCD1.3 to your computer's USB port to use the MCD1.3 as an external DAC.

4.4 Network Connection
- Wi-Fi: Screw the included Wi-Fi antenna onto the connector on the rear panel. Power on the unit and navigate to the network settings on the display to connect to your local Wi-Fi network.
- Bluetooth: Bluetooth is enabled by default. You can pair your Bluetooth devices directly from their settings.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Basic Operation
- Press the Standby button on the front panel or remote control to power on the unit.
- Use the Menu/Back button and Volume Knob to navigate the on-screen menu.
- Press the Volume Knob to confirm selections.
5.2 CD Playback
- Press the Eject button (usually next to the CD tray) to open the CD tray.
- Place a CD or MQA-CD gently into the tray with the label side facing up.
- Press the Eject button again or gently push the tray to close it. The unit will automatically read the disc.
- Press the Play/Pause button to start playback.
- Use the Previous/Next Track buttons to skip tracks.
- Press the Stop button to halt playback.

5.3 USB Drive Playback
- Insert a USB storage device (e.g., flash drive) into the USB-A port on the front panel.
- Navigate to the USB playback source on the display.
- Browse and select your desired audio files for playback.
5.4 Bluetooth Operation
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your source device (smartphone, tablet, etc.).
- On your source device, search for available Bluetooth devices and select "Shanling MCD1.3" to pair.
- Once paired, audio from your source device will stream to the MCD1.3.
5.5 Wi-Fi and Network Streaming
- After connecting to your Wi-Fi network (see Section 4.4), navigate to the network streaming options on the MCD1.3 display.
- Select your preferred streaming method (DLNA, AirPlay, NAS).
- Follow the on-screen prompts or refer to the specific application's instructions for streaming content.

5.6 Headphone Output
Connect your headphones to the 6.35mm headphone jack on the front panel. Use the Volume Knob to adjust the headphone output level. The headphone output operates independently or in conjunction with the line outputs, depending on settings.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents. For the display screen, use a screen-specific cleaning cloth and solution if necessary, applying it to the cloth first, not directly to the screen.
6.2 Disc Care
Handle CDs by their edges. Keep discs clean and free from scratches. Store them in their cases when not in use to prevent dust and damage.
6.3 Firmware Updates
Periodically check the official Shanling website for firmware updates. Updates can improve performance, add features, or fix bugs. Follow the instructions provided with the firmware update package carefully.
7. Troubleshooting
