4. Setup
4.1 Physical Installation
Place the DVR on a stable, flat surface in a well-ventilated area. Ensure adequate space around the unit for heat dissipation.

4.2 Connecting Peripherals
- Hard Disk Drive (HDD) Installation: The HRX-1634 supports up to two SATA HDDs (6TB/HDD). Power off the DVR before installing or replacing HDDs. Refer to the internal diagram for proper mounting and connection.
- Camera Connections: Connect your surveillance cameras to the appropriate BNC input ports for analog, AHD, HD-TVI, or HD-CVI cameras. Up to 16 analog channels are supported. IP cameras can be connected via the network.
- Monitor Connection: Connect a monitor to the HDMI or VGA output port for local viewing.
- Network Connection: Connect an Ethernet cable from the DVR's LAN port to your network router or switch.
- Audio and Alarm Connections: Connect audio input/output devices and alarm sensors/relays to the designated ports as needed. The DVR features 4 channel audio input/1 channel audio output and 16 alarm inputs/4 relay outputs.
- Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the DVR and then to a power outlet.

4.3 Initial Configuration
Upon first power-up, the DVR will guide you through an initial setup wizard. This includes setting the date/time, network settings, and administrator password. For remote access, utilize the P2P service with QR code connection for easy mobile app integration.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Live View
After successful setup, the DVR will display live video feeds from connected cameras on the monitor. Use the mouse to navigate the on-screen display (OSD) menu.
5.2 Recording
The DVR supports continuous, scheduled, and motion-detection recording. Configure recording settings via the OSD menu. The HRX-1634 records analog cameras up to 8MP (15fps), 5MP (20fps), 4MP (30fps), 2MP (30fps), 1MP (30fps), and 960H (30fps) per channel. It utilizes H.265, H.264, and MJPEG codecs for efficient storage.
5.3 Playback
Access recorded footage through the playback menu. You can search by date, time, event, or camera. The playback bandwidth is 32Mbps.
5.4 Remote Access
The DVR supports remote viewing via a web browser or a dedicated mobile application. Use the P2P service (QR code connect) for simplified setup of remote access on mobile devices.
5.5 Coaxial Control
For compatible cameras, the DVR supports coaxial control, allowing you to adjust camera settings (e.g., PTZ functions) directly through the DVR interface using the existing coaxial cable.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Hard Drive Management
Regularly check the status of your hard drives through the DVR's system information. Ensure sufficient storage space is available. The DVR will automatically overwrite older footage when the disk is full, based on your settings.
6.2 Firmware Updates
Periodically check the manufacturer's website for firmware updates. Keeping your DVR's firmware up-to-date ensures optimal performance, security, and access to new features.
6.3 Cleaning
Clean the exterior of the DVR with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols. Ensure ventilation openings are free from dust and obstructions.

- No Power: Check the power adapter connection and the power outlet. Ensure the power indicator light on the DVR is on.
- No Video Display: Verify monitor connection (HDMI/VGA) and ensure the monitor is powered on and set to the correct input. Check camera connections and power.
- No Recording: Check HDD status in system settings. Ensure recording schedules are configured correctly and motion detection is enabled if applicable.
- Network Connection Issues: Verify the Ethernet cable connection. Check network settings in the DVR and ensure your router is functioning correctly.
- Remote Access Failure: Confirm network connectivity. Ensure P2P service is enabled and the mobile app is correctly configured with the DVR's QR code.
