3. Product Overview
3.1 AOSU 5MP SolarCam Max Cameras & Solar Panels
The SolarCam Max cameras are designed for outdoor surveillance, offering 5MP resolution for clear video. They are powered by rechargeable batteries and continuously charged by the included solar panels, ensuring extended operation without frequent manual recharging. These cameras feature motion detection, two-way audio, and night vision capabilities.

3.2 AOSU 2K Doorbell Camera
The 2K Doorbell Camera provides high-definition video of your doorstep. It includes features such as motion detection, two-way audio for communication with visitors, and an integrated doorbell button. The accompanying chime alerts you to visitors inside your home.

3.3 AOSU 2K Indoor Camera
The 2K Indoor Camera offers versatile indoor monitoring with its pan and tilt functionality, allowing for a wide viewing area. It records in 2K resolution and supports two-way audio, making it suitable for monitoring pets, children, or general home security. It connects to the AOSU Home Base for local storage and system integration.

3.4 AOSU Home Base
The Home Base serves as the central hub for your AOSU security system. It connects all cameras, provides local storage for recordings, and ensures secure communication. It connects to your home network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
4. Setup
4.1 AOSU App Installation
- Download the AOSU App from the Apple App Store (for iOS devices) or Google Play Store (for Android devices).
- Install the app and create an account or log in if you already have one.
4.2 Home Base Setup
- Place the Home Base in a central location within your home, ensuring good Wi-Fi coverage.
- Connect the Home Base to power using the provided adapter.
- Connect the Home Base to your router using the provided Ethernet cable, or follow the in-app instructions to connect via Wi-Fi.
- Open the AOSU App, tap 'Add Device', and select 'Home Base' to follow the pairing process.
4.3 SolarCam Max Camera Installation
- Charge Cameras: Fully charge the SolarCam Max cameras using the USB cable before installation.
- Pair Cameras: In the AOSU App, select 'Add Device' and follow the instructions to pair each SolarCam Max camera with the Home Base.
- Choose Location: Select an outdoor location for each camera that provides the desired viewing angle and receives ample direct sunlight for the solar panel.
- Mount Cameras: Use the provided mounting screws and anchors to securely attach the camera brackets. Attach the cameras to the brackets.
- Mount Solar Panels: Position the solar panels to maximize sun exposure throughout the day. Connect the solar panel cable to the camera's charging port.
4.4 Doorbell Camera Installation
- Charge Doorbell: Fully charge the Doorbell Camera before installation.
- Pair Doorbell: In the AOSU App, select 'Add Device' and follow the instructions to pair the Doorbell Camera with the Home Base.
- Install Chime: Plug the wireless chime into a power outlet inside your home.
- Mount Doorbell: Choose a suitable location near your front door. Use the provided mounting bracket, screws, and anchors to secure the doorbell.
4.5 Indoor Camera Setup
- Power On: Connect the Indoor Camera to power using its adapter.
- Pair Camera: In the AOSU App, select 'Add Device' and follow the instructions to pair the Indoor Camera with the Home Base.
- Placement: Place the camera on a flat surface or mount it to a wall/ceiling in your desired indoor monitoring area.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Live View and Recording
- Open the AOSU App and select the desired camera from the device list to view its live feed.
- During live view, you can manually record video, take screenshots, or initiate two-way audio.
- Recorded events are stored on the Home Base and can be accessed via the 'Playback' or 'Events' section in the app.
5.2 Motion Detection Settings
- Navigate to the camera settings in the AOSU App.
- Adjust motion detection sensitivity, set activity zones, and schedule recording times to optimize alerts and conserve battery life (for SolarCam Max).
- Enable push notifications to receive instant alerts on your smartphone when motion is detected.
5.3 Two-Way Audio
- While in live view, tap the microphone icon in the app to speak through the camera's speaker.
- The camera's microphone will pick up audio from the environment, allowing for two-way communication.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Battery Charging (SolarCam Max)
The solar panels are designed to keep your SolarCam Max cameras charged. However, in periods of low sunlight or heavy usage, the battery level may drop. Monitor battery status in the AOSU App. If needed, detach the camera and charge it using the USB cable and power adapter.
6.2 Cleaning the Cameras
Periodically clean the camera lenses and solar panel surfaces with a soft, damp cloth to ensure optimal video clarity and charging efficiency. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
6.3 Firmware Updates
AOSU regularly releases firmware updates to improve performance and add new features. Check for updates in the AOSU App settings and install them as prompted to keep your system up-to-date.
7. Troubleshooting
- Issue: Camera is offline.
Solution: Check the camera's battery level. Ensure the Home Base is powered on and connected to the internet. Verify the camera is within range of the Home Base. Restart the camera and Home Base. - Issue: Poor video quality.
Solution: Clean the camera lens. Ensure there are no obstructions. Check your Wi-Fi signal strength. Adjust the camera's resolution settings in the app. - Issue: Motion detection not working or too sensitive.
Solution: Adjust motion detection sensitivity and activity zones in the camera settings within the AOSU App. Ensure the camera's view is clear of moving objects like tree branches if they are causing false alerts. - Issue: Doorbell not ringing the chime.
Solution: Ensure the chime is plugged in and powered on. Verify the doorbell and chime are paired correctly in the AOSU App. Check the volume settings for the chime. - Issue: Cannot connect to the AOSU App.
Solution: Ensure your smartphone has a stable internet connection. Verify the Home Base is online. Try restarting your router, Home Base, and smartphone.
