4. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to install your PC components into the Pure Base 501 Airflow Window case.

4.1. Preparing the Case

  • Place the case on a stable, flat surface.
  • Remove the tempered glass side panel by unscrewing the thumb screws at the rear and carefully pulling the panel away.
  • Remove the solid steel side panel (opposite side) by unscrewing the thumb screws and sliding it backward.
  • The front mesh panel can be removed by pulling it from the bottom edge to access front fan mounts.
  • The top panel can be removed to access top fan/radiator mounts.

4.2. Motherboard Installation

  • Ensure the correct standoffs are installed for your motherboard form factor (ATX, Micro-ATX, Mini-ITX). The case comes with pre-installed standoffs for ATX.
  • Install the I/O shield into the rear opening of the case.
  • Carefully place your motherboard onto the standoffs, aligning the screw holes.
  • Secure the motherboard with the appropriate screws from the accessory box.

4.3. Power Supply Unit (PSU) Installation

  • Mount the PSU to the bracket at the rear bottom of the case.
  • Slide the PSU with the bracket into the PSU shroud from the rear of the case.
  • Secure the PSU bracket with screws.

4.4. Storage Drive Installation

  • 3.5" HDDs: Install up to two 3.5" drives in the removable HDD cage located under the PSU shroud. Slide the drives into the trays and secure them.
  • 2.5" SSDs/HDDs: Install up to five 2.5" drives. Two mounts are located behind the motherboard tray, and three can be installed on the HDD cage. Secure drives with screws.

4.5. Graphics Card (VGA) and Expansion Card Installation

  • Remove the necessary expansion slot covers at the rear of the case.
  • Insert your graphics card or other expansion cards into the PCIe slots on the motherboard.
  • Secure the cards with screws.

4.6. Fan and Radiator Installation

  • The case comes with two 140mm Pure Wings 3 PWM fans pre-installed (one front, one rear).
  • Front: Supports 2x 140mm or 3x 120mm fans. Radiators up to 360mm.
  • Top: Supports 2x 140mm or 2x 120mm fans. Radiators up to 140mm.
  • Rear: Supports 1x 140mm or 1x 120mm fan. Radiators up to 140mm.
  • Ensure fans are oriented correctly for optimal airflow (intake at front, exhaust at rear/top).

4.7. Connecting Front I/O Ports

  • Connect the USB 3.2 Gen.2 Type C, USB 3.2 Type A (x2), HD Audio, power switch, reset button, and HDD indicator cables from the front panel to the corresponding headers on your motherboard.

4.8. Cable Management

  • Utilize the cable routing cutouts and Velcro straps behind the motherboard tray to organize cables. This improves airflow and aesthetics.
  • Ensure no cables interfere with fan blades.

5. Operating the PC Case

Once all components are installed and connected, replace the side panels. Connect your peripherals, monitor, and power cable. Press the power button on the front panel to start your system.
