Setup
Charging Your AirPods Max
Before first use, ensure your AirPods Max are sufficiently charged. Use the included USB-C Charge Cable to connect your AirPods Max to a power adapter or a USB-C port on a computer. A 5-minute charge provides approximately 1.5 hours of listening time.
When stored in the Smart Case, AirPods Max enter an ultra-low-power state to preserve battery charge.
Pairing with Your Device
- Ensure your AirPods Max are charged.
- Bring your AirPods Max close to your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to connect.
- Once connected, AirPods Max will automatically switch between your Apple devices signed in with the same Apple ID.
Operating Instructions
Controls
AirPods Max feature a Digital Crown and a Noise Control button for easy operation.
- Digital Crown:
- Turn for volume control.
- Press once to play or pause media.
- Press once to answer a call or mute/unmute yourself.
- Press twice to end a call or skip forward.
- Press three times to skip back.
- Press and hold for Siri.
- Noise Control Button: Press to switch between Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode.
- "Hey Siri": Say "Hey Siri" to activate voice commands for tasks like playing music, making calls, or getting directions.

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC): This mode blocks external sounds, allowing you to focus on your audio. It removes up to 2x more background noise.
Transparency Mode: This mode allows you to hear your surroundings while listening to audio, enabling interaction with the world around you without removing the headphones.
Switch between these modes using the Noise Control button.
Personalized Spatial Audio

Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking provides an immersive, three-dimensional listening experience. It adapts sound to your unique ear shape and head movements, placing sound all around you. This feature supports select songs, shows, and movies in Dolby Atmos.
Automatic Switching and Pause
AirPods Max automatically pause audio when removed from your head and resume when put back on. They also seamlessly switch between your iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices when signed in with the same Apple ID.
Maintenance
Cleaning
- Wipe the ear cups and headband with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.
- Do not use abrasive materials, aerosols, or cleaning sprays directly on the headphones.
- The ear cushions are magnetically attached and can be removed for cleaning. Clean them with a slightly damp cloth and mild soap, then rinse and dry thoroughly before reattaching.
Storage
Always store your AirPods Max in the Smart Case when not in use. This protects the headphones and puts them into an ultra-low-power state to conserve battery life.

Common Issues and Solutions
- No Sound or Intermittent Audio:
- Ensure AirPods Max are charged.
- Check Bluetooth connection on your device.
- Restart your source device (iPhone, iPad, Mac).

- Pairing Problems:
