This compact and lightweight tool is designed for pruning trees and shrubs, shredding green waste, and cutting various types of timber. Please read this manual thoroughly before first use and keep it for future reference.
2. Safety Instructions
Always prioritize safety when operating power tools. Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or property damage. This tool is designed for use with the PARKSIDE X 20 V Team series batteries (sold separately).
- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
- Ensure the work area is clear of obstacles and bystanders.
- Do not operate the saw in wet conditions or in the presence of flammable liquids or gases.
- Keep hands and body parts away from the chain when the tool is in operation.
- Always disconnect the battery before performing any maintenance, cleaning, or when changing accessories.
- Secure the workpiece before cutting to prevent movement.
- Familiarize yourself with the safety switch and emergency stop procedures.
3. Setup
Before operating your pruning saw, ensure it is properly assembled and prepared.

3.2 Battery Installation
This device is compatible with all batteries from the PARKSIDE X 20 V Team series. To install the battery, align the battery pack with the slot on the tool's handle and slide it in until it clicks securely into place. To remove, press the release button and slide the battery out.
3.3 Chain Installation and Adjustment
The pruning saw features a tool-free chain quick-change function. Refer to the markings on the tool for proper chain direction. Ensure the chain is correctly seated on the guide bar and sprocket. After installation, adjust the chain tension. The chain should be snug but still able to be pulled around the guide bar by hand. A chain that is too loose can derail, while a chain that is too tight can cause excessive wear and reduce performance.

4. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your pruning saw.
4.1 Starting and Stopping
To start the saw, first engage the safety switch, then press the trigger. The ergonomic non-slip handle ensures a secure grip during operation. Release the trigger to stop the saw. Always ensure the chain has come to a complete stop before setting the tool down.
4.2 Cutting Techniques
The compact design and low weight of the saw allow for comfortable sawing with fast work progress. It is ideal for pruning branches, cutting green waste, and processing smaller pieces of wood like boards, squared timber, and round timber. When cutting, allow the saw to do the work; do not force it. Maintain a firm grip with both hands and ensure stable footing.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your pruning saw.
5.1 Chain Lubrication
The chain lubrication on this model is manual. It is crucial to regularly apply appropriate chain oil to the guide bar and chain to reduce friction and prevent overheating. Check the oil level frequently during operation and refill as needed. Proper lubrication extends the life of the chain and guide bar.
5.2 Chain Tensioning
The chain tension should be checked regularly, especially after initial use and during extended operation. A loose chain can jump off the bar, while a too-tight chain can cause excessive wear and reduce cutting efficiency. Adjust the tension as described in Section 3.3.
5.3 Cleaning and Storage
After each use, clean the saw thoroughly. Remove sawdust, debris, and resin from the chain, guide bar, and motor housing. Use a soft brush or compressed air. Store the saw in its practical carrying case in a dry, secure location, out of reach of children. Always attach the bar protective cover before storage.
6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your pruning saw.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Saw does not start | Battery not inserted correctly or discharged. Safety switch not engaged. | Ensure battery is fully charged and properly inserted. Engage the safety switch before pressing the trigger. |
| Chain stops or cuts poorly | Chain dull, loose, or improperly lubricated. | Sharpen or replace chain. Adjust chain tension. Apply chain oil. |
| Battery drains quickly | Heavy load, old battery, or cold temperature. | Avoid forcing the saw. Use a fully charged battery. Consider having multiple batteries for extended use. Operate in suitable temperatures. |
