4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove all packaging materials. Inspect the freezer for any damage during transit. Keep packaging materials for future transport or disposal.

4.2 Placement

  • Place the freezer on a firm, level surface away from direct sunlight or heat sources (e.g., ovens, radiators).
  • Ensure adequate ventilation around the appliance. Leave at least 10 cm of space on the sides and back, and 30 cm above.
  • The appliance is designed to operate in ambient temperatures between 10°C and 43°C (Climate Class SN-T).

4.3 Electrical Connection

Before plugging in, ensure the voltage and frequency indicated on the rating plate match your household power supply. Plug the appliance into a dedicated, grounded wall socket. Do not use extension cords or multiple socket adapters.

4.4 Initial Operation

After placement, allow the freezer to stand upright for at least 4 hours before plugging it in. This allows the refrigerant to settle. Once plugged in, allow the freezer to cool down for 2-3 hours before loading food.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Temperature Control

The freezer features a digital display and control panel (refer to Figure 3.4). Use the temperature adjustment buttons to set the desired freezing temperature. The recommended temperature for long-term food storage is -18°C.

5.2 Fast Freeze Function

To rapidly freeze fresh food, activate the Fast Freeze function. This lowers the temperature quickly to preserve food quality. It is recommended to activate this function 24 hours before adding large quantities of fresh food. The function will automatically deactivate after a certain period or can be manually turned off.

5.3 Food Storage Guidelines

  • Always store food in sealed containers or freezer bags to prevent dehydration and odor transfer.
  • Do not place hot food directly into the freezer; allow it to cool first.
  • Avoid overloading the freezer, as this can hinder proper air circulation and freezing efficiency.
  • Refer to food packaging for recommended storage times.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Before cleaning, always unplug the freezer. Clean the interior and exterior surfaces regularly with a soft cloth and a mild detergent solution. Do not use abrasive cleaners or sharp objects. Ensure the interior is dry before plugging the appliance back in.

6.2 Defrosting

This freezer does not feature automatic defrosting. Manual defrosting is required when the ice layer reaches a thickness of about 5-10 mm. To defrost:

  1. Unplug the freezer.
  2. Remove all food items and store them in another freezer or cooler.
  3. Leave the lid open to allow the ice to melt naturally. You can place towels at the bottom to absorb water. Do not use sharp objects or heating devices to speed up defrosting.
  4. Once defrosted, clean and dry the interior thoroughly before plugging the freezer back in and returning food.
